Take note, this does not necessarily mean that Laine will be in the lineup tonight against the Canucks, but it is still a significant sign regarding his current condition.

It’s a good sign to see that Laine is able to skate today, and it comes as a pleasant surprise considering all the rumors that have circulated about him in the past few hours.

We should have official news on Laine within a few minutes.

Regardless of whether Laine plays tonight or not, Joshua Roy is expected to be in Martin St-Louis’ lineup, and Alex Newhook is expected to center the second line.

As for Laine, even if he dresses, he is likely to have only a depth role at 5-on-5, as he has played just 10, 11 minutes per game in recent weeks.
