The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly eyeing three big-named quarterbacks after Matthew Stafford agreed to a new contract with the Los Angeles Rams.
After exploring trade options for their 37-year-old quarterback, the Rams ultimately agreed to a restructured deal with Stafford. The Las Vegas Raiders were among the teams heavily linked to Stafford trade speculation, but they’ll now have to look in another direction with the Rams retaining their Pro Bowl signal-caller.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Las Vegas is “expected to investigate veteran quarterback options” that include free agents Sam Darnold, Justin Fields, and Russell Wilson.
The Las Vegas Raiders’ current quarterback depth chart consists of veteran Gardner Minshew II, third-year product Aidan O’Connell and sophomore Carter Bradley.
Darnold is coming off a career year with the Minnesota Vikings that saw him throw for 4,319 yards, 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He led Minny to a 14-3 regular-season record, their best mark since the 1998 squad that went 15-1.

With the legendary Tom Brady coming on as a minority owner, and with future Hall of Famer taking over as head coach in Sin City, the Las Vegas Raiders have to make a big splash at quarterback.
The Raiders play in an AFC West division that featured three 2024 playoff teams, including the dynastic Kansas City Chiefs. Brady and Carroll are not here to rebuild, so it’d be quite a stunner if the Raiders didn’t somehow make a big upgrade at quarterback in the offseason.
Fields started the Pittsburgh Steelers’ first six games of 2024 with Wilson recovering from injury, going 4-2 with five touchdowns and one interception. Wilson got off to a promising start in Pittsburgh before losing the final four regular-season games en route to an ugly Wild Card Round loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
