The hockey world is mourning the sudden loss of a goaltender, Madelyne Duval, who leaves us at the young age of 17.

17-year old Madelyne Duval, a goaltender for the 18U Clarence Rockland Lightning, and a former member of the Glengarry Highlanders hockey team has tragically passed away.
According to a parent of her teammate, Madelyne succumbed to her injuries suffered in a career accident on Thursday.
Maddy was an outstanding goalie between the pipes, and the posting of the saddened news came with hundreds of heartfelt messages to those affected by this sudden loss in the hockey community.
“Our deepest condolences to his family and the entire team. May she rest in peace! A very good goalkeeper!”
“That really sucks!! I’m so sorry!!! My deepest condolences to the family, friend and teammates. She was a great goalie to coach!”
The posting shared a lovely team photo of the 11-18U Rockland Lightning players, which has sadly been shortened to 10.
“It is with a heavy heart that I’m writting this morning to inform the team that last night Maddy was involved in a car accident and unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
I would like to offer my sincerest
condolences to Kim and
her family.
I encourage the girls to reach out and support each other in these trying times.
