Rangers have chosen replacement for Sam Rosen.
The New York Rangers are bringing in a titan of broadcasting to replace Sam Rosen.
The New York Rangers were going to have an impossible time replacing beloved broadcaster Sam Rosen, who has announced that he will be retiring at the end of this season, and it is perhaps for that reason that they have gone all out.
On Monday, news broke that Kenny Albert, a true titan of sports broadcasting, would be stepping in as the man who will replace Rosen in the broadcast booth moving forward.
Despite only being 57 years old, Albert is already viewed as a legendary broadcaster by sports fans around the world and for good reason. Of all the men currently calling games in the world of professional sports, Albert is the only man who can boast that he currently does play by play for all four of the major sports leagues in North America, the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball and of course the National Hockey League.
Albert has already had a number of calls during his time covering NHL hockey, with the most recent moment that comes to mind being his call of Alex Ovechkin’s record breaking goal this season.
Another nice little note here for hockey fans, Albert has often cited both his father and former Vancouver Canucks play by play man Jim Robson as his idols and inspirations in the broadcast booth.
Rosen has some incredibly big shoes to fill but I think fans in New York will be happy with this selection and I firmly believe that Albert will be up to the task.
