Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and NHL powerhouses Brady and Matthew Tkachuk are known for their fiery competitiveness, but when a disrespectful jab labeled them as “American losers” following the 4 Nations Face-Off final, they weren’t about to stay silent.
The controversy ignited after Team USA’s tough loss to Canada in the championship game, a defeat that left Brady and Matthew Tkachuk heartbroken but determined. As criticism poured in from some Canadian fans and media personalities, one particularly biting remark struck a nerve—branding the Tkachuks and their team as “American losers” in a viral social media post.

Kelce, a vocal supporter of the Tkachuk brothers and a champion who has faced his fair share of criticism, didn’t hold back.
“Ain’t no such thing as a loser when you fight to the end, man. Y’all played your hearts out. You think one game defines greatness? Hell nah. If y’all ain’t built for the grind, stay outta the arena!” Kelce posted on X (formerly Twitter), immediately rallying fans behind the Tkachuks.
Brady Tkachuk, never one to shy away from confrontation, fired back as well: “We battle. We wear that jersey with pride. If that makes us ‘losers,’ then I’d hate to see what y’all call quitting.”
Matthew doubled down, sharing a highlight reel of the game with the caption: “Say it to our faces. We’ll remember this.”
The backlash from fans was swift, with many pointing out that sports are about resilience, not just trophies. Even Canadian players chimed in, showing respect for Team USA’s effort, with some calling the “American losers” comment unnecessary trash talk.

Kelce, known for his larger-than-life personality on and off the field, later added a final message of motivation: “Take notes now, ‘cause these boys are coming back hungrier than ever. And when they do, I hope y’all keep that same energy.”

With the Tkachuks fired up and Kelce rallying behind them, this war of words might just add extra fuel to future USA-Canada matchups. One thing’s for sure—calling these guys ‘losers’ is only making them more dangerous.
