There’s so much information to break down about the long-awaited arrival of Ivan Demidov with the Montreal Canadiens. We’re trying to unpack all of it for you.

One piece of information that was quickly mentioned yesterday has just been reiterated today by journalist Daria Tuboltseva, because it’s important.

It’s not surprising, but for those who were wondering, a lineup decision has already been made with Demidov and the Canadiens.

It will be the NHL (the Montreal Canadiens) or the KHL for Demidov.

He will therefore not be eligible to play for the Laval Rocket.

A decision has already been made for Ivan Demidov: it’s either the NHL or the KHL, but forget about the Laval Rocket

Demidov also won’t be allowed to help the Rocket if the Montreal Canadiens are eliminated.

That’s important to note.

“Ivan has a clause that allows him to return to the KHL if he’s not playing in the NHL.

Demidov will receive a $25,000 bonus if he plays in 5 playoff games. If he plays in 10 games, he will receive $30,000.”

It was an important point, and many of you were asking if that was a possibility in the event the Habs were eliminated.

Lastly, speaking of special clauses in Demidov’s contract:

We can’t wait to see Ivan in action live from the Bell Centre. As reported earlier today, Monday is the targeted date for his much-anticipated debut against the Chicago Blackhawks.

What a great week to be a Montreal Canadiens fan!
