Juan Soto signed the largest contract in the history of sports. The slugger surpassed the mighty Shohei Ohtani with a whopping $765 million. Steven Cohen and his squad were the frontrunners for Soto, and they eventually won the battle.

The New York Yankees were a strong competitor for the Mets. The Yanks offered Soto $760 million, but he sided with the Mets. Soto mentioned that he saw a brighter future in Queens. Apart from his contract, the All-Star received several benefits, including an opt-out after five years and a $5 million signing bonus.

Many believed that Juan Soto picked the team that offered him the most. However, it turns out that other teams offered him more. In a recent video, Soto dropped a bombshell about his contract with the Mets.

When asked how many teams made the final cut, Soto named the Dodgers, Blue Jays, Red Sox, Mets, and Yankees.

“Mets didn’t offer the most money,” Juan Soto revealed.
