EL MILLONARIO SIGUIÓ A LA NIÑERA DE SU HIJO SIN QUE ELLA LO NOTARA… Y DESCUBRIÓ ALGO INCREÍBLE !

Suspicious, the millionaire followed his son’s nanny and discovered a secret that changed his life.  Alejandro Montaño was 40 years old, had a company worth millions, and a huge house in one of the most exclusive areas of Mexico City.  From the outside, anyone would have thought that his life was perfect.

The house had giant windows, a large garden, and a silence that seemed elegant, but inside everything felt different.  The silence was not tranquility, it was emptiness.  Two years earlier, his wife Mariana had died in a car accident.  From that day on, Alejandro stopped feeling that his life had any direction.

He used to be a man who spoke loudly, who made jokes, who planned trips with his family.  Mariana always said that Alejandro had too much energy to stay still, but now the man who walked through the halls of that house seemed like a different person.   He walked slowly, spoke little, and avoided staying too long in any room that reminded him of her.

The kitchen reminded him of mornings when Mariana would make coffee while singing. The room reminded him of movie nights.  The garden reminded him of when the three of them would sit on the grass watching Mateo run after a ball. Mateo, he was the only reason why Alejandro kept going.  Her son was 5 years old and had also changed a lot since his mother’s death.

He used to be a restless child, full of questions and laughter.  [music] Now he spoke little. He spent a lot of time sitting with a shopping cart in his hand or looking out the window.  Sometimes he would take a picture of Mariana and stare at it in silence.  Alejandro didn’t know what to say to her when that happened.

Many times he wanted to go up to him and hug him, but something inside him held him back.  Perhaps it was fear of breaking down in front of her own son. Alejandro’s routine became simple and cold.  He would get up early, get dressed for the office, and check his phone even before leaving his room.  He would go downstairs, [music] greet whoever was taking care of Mateo that day and go straight to work.

I spent hours and hours at the company, meetings, calls, contracts, decisions.  It was easier to think in numbers than in memories.  His colleagues admired his discipline.  They said that Alejandro had become tougher, more focused.  Nobody knew that he was actually just running away from his own home, because when he returned at night, the silence would strike him again.

That house, which used to be full of laughter, now seemed too big for two people.  The nannies who had come through the house since Mariana’s death didn’t last long. Some were kind, some strict, some too young to understand the child’s pain.  Mateo didn’t get along with any of them.  Sometimes he would lock himself in his room and didn’t want to come out.

Other times he simply ignored everything they told him.  Alejandro tried to talk to child psychologists, teachers, and specialists.  Everyone told him the same thing. The child was going through a deep period of grief.  He needed time, he needed affection, but Alejandro didn’t know how to give him that when he himself was lost.

One Friday afternoon, Alejandro arrived earlier than usual.  She had cancelled a meeting because she felt a strange tiredness that she couldn’t explain. When she entered the house, she noticed that it was too quiet.  She walked into the living room and found Mateo sitting on the floor with an open toy box. The boy had a small truck in his hand.

Alejandro stared at him for a few seconds.  Matthew looked up and observed him.  “Hello, Dad,” the boy said in a soft voice.  [music] “Hello, champ,” Alejandro replied.  The boy looked at his toy again.  Alejandro felt a knot in his chest.  He remembered when Mateo used to run towards the door every time he came home from work.

Now he would just say hello and continue playing alone. Alejandro sat down on the sofa without saying anything.  He looked around.  There were photos of Mariana in various places in the house.  In one she was laughing with her hair blowing in the wind.  In another, she was hugging Mateo when he was a baby.  Alejandro took a slow breath.

Sometimes he still found it impossible to accept that she was no longer there.   She closed her eyes for a moment and tried to concentrate on something else.  At that moment Carmen appeared, the domestic worker who had been working with the family for years.  “Mr. Alejandro,” he said in a calm voice.  The agency called again .

She says they have a new nanny for Mateo.  Alejandro opened his eyes and looked towards the kitchen.  Another one, she asked wearily.  Carmen nodded.  They say he has experience with young children. Alejandro remained silent for a few seconds. Several people had already passed through the house.

None of them had managed to connect with Mateo, but he couldn’t leave the child without someone to take care of him while he worked.  “Okay,” he finally replied.  Bring on Monday.  Carmen smiled with a little hope.  “Maybe this time it will work,” he said.  [music] Alejandro did not respond.  He got up from the sofa and walked towards the garden.

The afternoon air was cool.  From there I could see Mateo through the window, still playing on the living room floor. Alejandro rested his hands on the terrace railing.  He thought about Mariana again .  She always had a special way of talking to Mateo.  He knew how to make him laugh even when he was angry.

Alejandro squeezed his eyes shut for a moment.  “I wish you were here,” he murmured to himself.  Inside the house, Mateo looked up and saw his dad standing outside.  For a moment, it seemed as if she was going to get up to go with him, but then she looked back at her toy truck.  Alejandro didn’t notice.  He continued looking at the garden as the sun began to set.

I didn’t know that in a few days the arrival of a new person to that house was going to change many things. [music] Neither he nor Mateo imagined that someone was about to enter their lives to break the silence that had been living in that house for 2 years.  Monday morning began like any other day at Alejandro Montaño’s house.

The sun streamed in through the large windows of the living room, illuminating the wooden floor and the elegant furniture that hardly anyone used. Despite how beautiful the place was, the atmosphere still felt cold. Alejandro was sitting at the dining room table with a cup of coffee in front of him and his cell phone in his hand.

She was checking work emails while unconsciously moving the spoon inside the cup .  Mateo was sitting on the other side of the table with a plate of fruit that he barely touched.  [music] He stared out the window as if something out there was more interesting than everything that was happening inside the house.

Carmen went in and out of the kitchen arranging things. There was some tension in the air because everyone knew that another nanny would be arriving that day .  It wasn’t the first time. [music] In the last two years, several women had already passed through that house trying to take care of Mateo.  Some were patient, others too strict, others simply didn’t know how to approach a child who had lost his mother.

Alejandro put his cell phone down on the table and looked at his son. Mateo, someone new will come to help you today while I’m in the office, he said calmly. [music] The child did not respond immediately.  He continued looking out the window for a few more seconds.  Then he looked at his dad.  Another nanny asked in a small voice.  Alejandro nodded.  Yes.

Mateo looked down and pushed a piece of apple through his fork.  He said nothing more.  That silence hurt Alejandro more than he expected.  [music] Carmen appeared in the kitchen doorway with a rag in her hand.  “Sir, I think he’s arrived,” he said, looking towards the entrance. Alejandro took a breath and got up from the table.

He walked towards the front door with calm steps, although inside he did n’t have much hope.  He opened the door and found a woman standing in front of him.  She had her dark hair tied back in a simple ponytail and carried a cloth bag slung over her shoulder.  She was dressed simply, in a light-colored blouse and comfortable pants.  Her expression was calm, but her eyes showed something deeper, as if she carried many things inside.

“Good morning,” she said with a friendly smile. “My name is Claudia Hernández. I come from the Child Care Agency.” Alejandro looked at her for a few seconds before answering.  “Good morning, I’m Alejandro. Come in.” Claudia entered the house, looking around curiously, but without showing exaggerated surprise at the size of the place.

She walked behind Alejandro into the living room. Mateo was still sitting at the dining room table, now slowly moving his fork across his plate. Alejandro spoke first. “Mateo, this is Claudia. She’s going to be with you while I work.” Mateo looked up at the woman in front of him. He did n’t say anything. Claudia approached slowly.

“Hello, Mateo,” she said in a calm voice. The boy looked at her for a moment and then looked down again. Alejandro felt the same familiar weight. He had seen this scene many times before. Usually, at this point, the nannies tried to ask questions or try to encourage the child with too much energy. But Claudia did something different.

She didn’t insist; she simply took a chair and sat down near him. Instead of talking, she opened her bag and took out a small notebook and a box of crayons. She began to draw without saying a word. Mateo looked up again. He watched as Claudia moved the pencil across  the paper. After a few seconds, curiosity overcame the silence.

“What are you drawing?” the boy asked. Claudia turned the notebook so he could see it. “A very hungry dinosaur,” she replied matter-of- factly. Mateo moved a little closer to the table to get a better look. “That dinosaur looks angry,” he said. Claudia smiled. “He’s angry because no one wants to give him tacos.” Mateo frowned, confused.

“Dinosaurs don’t eat tacos.” Claudia shrugged. “This one does .” Mateo thought for a few seconds. Then he took a green crayon from the box and began to color part of the drawing without asking permission. Claudia didn’t say anything, she just kept drawing. Alejandro watched the scene from the living room.

Something about this interaction was different. There was no pressure or awkward questions, [music] just two people sharing a simple moment. Several minutes passed like this. Mateo began to add more things to the drawing. He drew a tree, a volcano, and another, smaller dinosaur . “This is his friend,” the boy explained.

Claudia looked at the drawing carefully. “So, the big one isn’t angry anymore,” she said. Mateo shook his head.  He nodded. No, because now he has someone to play with. Alejandro felt a small pang in his chest at that. Carmen appeared in the room with a discreet smile. “Mr. Alejandro, I think the little one has company now,” [music] she commented softly. Alejandro nodded slowly.

He looked at his son as if he were seeing something he hadn’t seen in a long time. Mateo was focused, talking a little more, moving the colors energetically. There was even a small laugh when Claudia drew a huge hat on one of the dinosaurs. Alejandro took a few steps closer. “Mateo, I have to go to the office,” [music] he said.

The boy looked up . “Okay,” he replied without sadness. Alejandro looked at him in surprise. For months, every goodbye had been difficult. Now he seemed calm. Alejandro took his jacket from the back of a chair and walked toward the door. Before leaving, he looked back at the table. Mateo and Claudia were still drawing.

The boy was pointing at something in the notebook while talking with more enthusiasm than he had in weeks. Alejandro left the house with a strange feeling in his chest. It wasn’t exactly Happiness, but it wasn’t the same weight as before. As he walked toward his car, he heard something that made him stop for a second. A clear laugh came from inside the house.

It was Mateo, a laugh he hadn’t heard in a long time. Alejandro closed his eyes for a moment before getting into the car. He didn’t know if it would last, but for the first time in a long time, he felt that perhaps something inside that house was beginning to stir again. During the first few days after Claudia Hernández’s arrival , something began to change little by little inside Alejandro Montaño’s house .

It wasn’t anything big or sudden. It was more like a series of small moments that, without anyone saying it out loud, began to break the silence that had filled that place for two years. On Tuesday afternoon, Alejandro arrived home from work a little earlier than usual. He had had a long day full of meetings, numbers, and decisions that normally left him exhausted.

When he entered the house, he left his keys on a table near the door and took off his jacket as he walked toward the living room. He expected to find the same calm as always, that quiet atmosphere that had become Normal. But before he arrived, he heard something that made him stop. It was Mateo’s voice. The boy was talking. Not just a word or a short answer, he was telling a story with excitement.

Alejandro walked a little more slowly to the edge of the room and looked out at the garden through the French doors. Mateo was outside running after a red ball. Claudia was nearby, watching him with a calm smile. Every time the boy kicked the ball, Claudia pretended to try to catch it and miss on purpose.

Mateo laughed loudly. [music] That clear laughter filled the air of the garden. Alejandro stood still, watching the scene. It was the first time in a long time that he had seen his son run like that. Before Mariana died, Mateo used to spend hours playing in that garden. After the accident, the boy hardly ever went outside.

Many times Alejandro had invited him to play outside, but Mateo always said he did n’t feel like it. Now he seemed like a different child. “Dad’s here,” [music] Mateo said suddenly when he saw him through the glass. He ran toward the door with the ball in  The hand. [Music] Alejandro opened the French doors and the boy came in, his hair disheveled and his cheeks red from exertion.

“Dad, Claudia doesn’t know how to catch the ball,” Mateo said, laughing. Claudia held up her hands with an amused expression. “That’s true, I’m terrible at it,” Alejandro replied. He looked at his son and then at Claudia. For a moment he didn’t know what to say. Mateo was breathing rapidly and smiling in a way Alejandro hadn’t seen in a long time.

“Did you have fun?” [Music] Alejandro asked. Mateo nodded enthusiastically. “A lot. Claudia says we can make a race track with my toy cars tomorrow.” Alejandro looked at Claudia curiously. She just shrugged. “Mateo had an idea.” He said simply. [Music] Carmen appeared from the kitchen, wiping her hands with a rag. “Mr. Alejandro, [Music] the little one hasn’t stopped all afternoon,” she commented with a smile.

Alejandro looked back at Mateo. The boy was already on the living room floor arranging their toy cars in a long row. Claudia sat nearby to help him. [music] Alejandro stood watching. There was something different about the atmosphere in the house. It wasn’t just the sound of Mateo talking and moving around, it was also the way Claudia was behaving.

She wasn’t trying to direct every moment or impose unnecessary rules, she was simply there accompanying the boy in what he was doing. Mateo picked up one of the toy cars. “This one’s going to win because it’s the fastest,” he explained. Claudia looked at him with interest. [music] “And which one is the slowest?” she asked.

Mateo picked up another small car. “This one, but it still wants to race.” Claudia nodded seriously. [music] “Then it deserves a chance.” Mateo smiled. Alejandro felt something strange in his chest when he heard that. For months, every conversation with Mateo had been short and quiet. Now the boy was speaking naturally.

Alejandro walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water. From there he could hear the conversation in the background. Mateo was explaining the rules of the race while Claudia asked simple questions that encouraged him to continue.  They were talking. After a few minutes, Alejandro returned to the living room and sat on the sofa.

He watched as Mateo pushed the toy cars around an improvised track made of books and cushions. Claudia cheered every time one reached the end. Suddenly, one of the cars went off the track and crashed into the table. Mateo burst out laughing. Alejandro felt something inside him loosen a little. That house had been without laughter for too long.

[music] The afternoon continued like this for almost an hour. When Mateo finally began to show signs of tiredness, Claudia took him to wash his hands before dinner. Alejandro stayed alone in the living room for a few minutes, looking at the toys scattered on the floor. They didn’t bother him. In fact, seeing that mess seemed better to him than the pristine silence that had dominated the house for so long.

During dinner, Mateo talked more than Alejandro expected. He told them how they had played in the garden, how they planned to build a bigger track the next day, and how the dinosaur from Monday’s drawing now had a home. Alejandro listened attentively as he ate. Claudia  He sat with them, but spoke little. He let Mateo tell them everything.

After dinner, Claudia took the boy to his room to get him ready for bed. Alejandro stayed in the living room checking some work messages, but he couldn’t help but hear the sounds from the hallway. Mateo talked while Claudia tidied up his toys and helped him put on his pajamas. “Dad used to play with me too ,” the boy said at one point.

Alejandro raised his head upon hearing that.  There was a brief pause.  “Are you sure? ” Claudia replied calmly.  Mateo remained silent for a few seconds. Alejandro didn’t hear what she said next.  Later, Claudia returned to the room with her bag over her shoulder. [music] Mateo was already asleep. Alejandro got up from the sofa.

“Thank you for today,” he said sincerely.  Claudia smiled slightly.  Mateo is a good boy, he just needs to feel accompanied. Alejandro nodded.  [music] I know. Claudia walked towards the front door.  Before leaving, he looked towards the hallway that led to Mateo’s room. [music] “Tomorrow we continue with the racetrack,” he said.

Alejandro opened the door for her to leave.  When Claudia left, Alejandro turned off some lights in the house and walked slowly towards his son’s room.  He pushed the door open carefully.  Mateo was asleep hugging one of his toy cars.  Alejandro approached the bed and observed him for a few seconds.  The child was breathing easy.

Alejandro adjusted the blanket over his chest and stared at him for a moment longer.  Then he left the room and closed the door gently.  As he walked down the hall toward his room, [music] something inside him began to stir in a way he hadn’t felt in a long time.  It wasn’t complete happiness or clear hope, but it was the feeling that for the first time in two years the house no longer seemed so empty.

The days began to pass with a new routine inside Alejandro Montaño’s house.  It wasn’t a huge change that anyone would notice immediately, but for Alejandro it was.  Every afternoon, when I returned from work, I found something different. Sometimes Mateo was in the garden running after a ball.  Other times he was in the living room building towers with blocks while Claudia sat nearby helping him to keep them from falling down.

There was even an afternoon when Alejandro heard children’s music coming from the kitchen and found Mateo laughing while Claudia tried to teach him some very clumsy dance steps.  Seeing that was strange and comforting at the same time.  For months, the house had been a quiet place, full of memories that no one wanted to touch.

Now, without Alejandro fully understanding how it had happened, the atmosphere seemed lighter.  Mateo talked more, asked questions, told stories about his day, sometimes even running towards the door when he heard his dad’s car arrive.  Carmen noticed it too.  One afternoon, while serving juice in the kitchen, [music] approached Alejandro and said in a low voice that the boy seemed like a different person since Claudia had arrived.

Alejandro didn’t respond much, but deep down he knew she was right.  Claudia had a quiet way of being close to Mateo.  I didn’t try to fill every second with rules or forced activities.  I listened to the child, I accompanied him, I let him be.  But as the house gradually filled with life during the day, Alejandro began to notice something he didn’t understand.

Every night, when Claudia finished her shift and said goodbye to leave, the same thing happened.  At first it was something small, almost imperceptible. [music] One afternoon, Alejandro saw her leave through the front door while he was reviewing some documents in the living room.  Claudia walked quickly towards the street. As he passed under the light of the lamppost in front of the house, Alejandro noticed something strange about his face.

Her eyes were shiny, as if she had been crying.  Alejandro thought that perhaps it was just his impression.  Perhaps the wind or the tiredness of the day didn’t make it too important, but it happened again the following night.  Alejandro was in the kitchen drinking a glass of water when he heard the door open. Claudia said goodbye to Carmen and walked towards the exit.

Alejandro moved a little closer to the hallway without making a sound. When Claudia passed in front of the door, he saw her clearly.  Her eyes were red.  This time it didn’t seem like an illusion. It looked like she had been really crying.  Alejandro frowned, confused.  During the day, Claudia always seemed calm.

He played with Mateo, talked to Carmen, and sometimes even shared dinner with them when the boy insisted that he stay a little longer.  He never showed any signs of being sad, but every night he left with that same expression in his eyes. Alejandro began to pay closer attention. Three more days passed and the scene repeated itself each time.

Claudia finished putting away Mateo’s toys, said goodbye with a kind smile, and walked towards the door.  But when she crossed the threshold of the house, her face changed.  It was as if he dropped a mask he had been wearing all day. One night, Alejandro decided to observe more carefully.  Mateo was already asleep and the house was silent.

Claudia left the child’s room after turning off the light.  She walked down the hallway and met Alejandro in the living room. [music] “Good evening, Mr. Alejandro,” he said kindly.  Mateo is already asleep.  Alejandro nodded. Thank you for everything today.  The boy had a lot of fun with the pillow fort.

[music] Claudia smiled a little as she remembered.  Yes, we almost ended up buried under the covers.  Alejandro let out a small laugh.  Then Claudia picked up her bag and walked towards the door. [music] Alejandro accompanied her a few steps out of politeness.  When she opened the door, [music] the cool night air entered the house.

“May she rest,” Claudia said before leaving. “Likewise,” [music] replied Alejandro.  Claudia went through the door and started walking towards the gate.  Alejandro stood inside the house, looking through the glass.  When Claudia passed under the lamppost again, the same thing happened.   She raised a hand to her face and quickly wiped away a tear that was running down her cheek.

Alejandro felt a mixture of surprise and concern. That no longer seemed like a coincidence. Claudia continued walking down the street until she disappeared into the darkness. Alejandro slowly closed the door. For a few seconds he stared at the floor without moving.  I didn’t understand what was happening.

During the day, Claudia seemed like a strong and calm person.   I was always patient with Mateo.  She never talked about problems or showed any signs of being worried, but every night she went to bed crying.  Alejandro walked into the living room and sat down on the sofa.  She crossed her hands and remained thinking.

Part of him wanted to ask her directly what was going on, but another part felt he had no right to interfere in her personal life.  After all, Claudia worked from home, but that didn’t mean she had to tell him everything.  Even so, the image of her wiping away tears under the lamplight kept running through his mind.

In the following days, Alejandro continued to observe without saying anything.  Every afternoon the house was still filled with Mateo’s energy .  The boy ran around the garden, invented new games, and talked to Claudia as if he had known her forever.  [music] Alejandro even began to notice that he himself was curiously awaiting the moment to return from work to see what new adventure they had invented that day.

But at night everything returned to that same strange moment.  Claudia calmly said goodbye, picked up her bag, and left the house.  And always, always, her eyes were filled with tears.  One night, Alejandro went to the living room window to watch her leave again.  Claudia walked quickly down the street, as if she were in a hurry to get somewhere.

Alejandro watched as he walked away until he turned the corner.  At that moment she felt curiosity mixed with something stronger, concern, because it didn’t seem like the crying of someone who had a bad day, it seemed like the crying of someone who was carrying a very heavy weight on their shoulders. Alejandro placed a hand against the windowpane as he looked at the empty street.

[music] For two years he had lived locked in his own pain, without paying much attention to what was happening around him.  But now there was someone in his house who seemed to be carrying a deep sadness, and he didn’t know why.  That night, Alejandro stayed awake longer than usual, sitting in the living room, staring at the door as if at any moment he was going to understand what was happening.

But all he knew was that every night Claudia left with tears in her eyes, and every time he saw that scene he felt a greater need to discover the reason.  For several days, Alejandro Montaño tried to ignore what he had been seeing every night.  He tried to convince himself that it was none of his business. Claudia arrived early, took good care of Mateo, made him laugh, and helped him feel better.  That was the important thing.

The rest belonged to his personal life. But every time he saw her walk out the door with red eyes, something inside him grew more uneasy.  It wasn’t simple curiosity; it was the feeling that something serious was happening and nobody knew about it.  That night the air was cool and the sky was dark.

Alejandro was sitting in the living room pretending to review some work papers, but in reality he was waiting for the moment when Claudia would leave.  Mateo was already asleep.  Carmen had finished tidying the kitchen and had retired to her small room at the back of the house. The mansion was silent.  Alejandro heard footsteps in the hallway.

Claudia appeared walking slowly after leaving Mateo’s room.  She carried her bag slung over her shoulder and her hair was slightly loose, as if it had been a long day.  “Good evening, Mr. Alejandro,” he said with his usual calm. Mateo fell asleep very quickly today. Alejandro looked up.  “Thank you for taking care of him too,” she replied.

Claudia smiled slightly.  He’s a good boy, he just needs to feel safe. Alejandro nodded, although his mind was actually focused on what would happen in the next few minutes. Claudia walked towards the front door.  Alejandro accompanied her for a few steps.  When she opened the door, the air from the street gently entered the house.

“May she rest,” Claudia said before leaving.  “Likewise,” replied Alejandro.  She closed the door behind her .  Alejandro waited a few seconds. Then he walked to the living room window and looked out onto the street.  Claudia was walking along the sidewalk under the yellow light of the streetlamp and the same thing happened again.   She raised her hand to her face and quickly wiped away a tear, as if she didn’t want anyone to see it.

Alejandro felt a pressure in his chest.  This time he didn’t look away .  He watched as Claudia walked to the corner of the street and turned right. For a few seconds, Alejandro stared at that empty space.  [music] His mind began to make a decision before he himself noticed it.  He walked to the table, picked up his car keys, and put on his jacket.

He left the house carefully, trying not to make any noise, closed the door slowly, and walked towards the garage.  As he started the car, he wondered for a moment if that was a bad idea.  [music] Secretly following someone wasn’t something he would normally do, but something inside him told him he had to know what was going on.

He left the garage with the headlights on low so as not to attract too much attention. When he reached the corner, he saw Claudia walking a few streets ahead. He kept a quick pace, as if he were in a hurry to get somewhere. Alejandro drove slowly, [music] keeping a certain distance so that she would not notice his presence.

The city was quiet at that hour. [music] Some cars passed by from time to time and the lights of the businesses began to turn off.  Claudia continued walking for several blocks.  Alejandro thought that maybe he was heading to a bus stop or the subway, but he didn’t stop at any station.  He continued on until he reached a larger avenue.

Alejandro parked the car a little further back so as not to get too close.  From there he watched her cross the street and continue walking along the sidewalk.  After a few minutes, Claudia stopped in front of a large building, illuminated with white lights.  Alejandro squinted, trying to see better.

There was a large sign at the entrance of the building. San Gabriel General Hospital.  Alejandro frowned.  I wasn’t expecting that. Claudia walked towards the hospital’s automatic door and entered without stopping.  Alejandro stayed inside the car looking at the entrance.  [music] People were going in and out of the hospital.

Some looked tired, others worried.  It was the kind of place no one wanted to be if they could avoid it. Alejandro turned off the car’s engine, but did n’t get out immediately.  His mind began to imagine many possibilities.  Perhaps Claudia had a sick relative. Maybe he was visiting someone every night.

[music] That would explain her tears.  After a few minutes, Alejandro decided to get out of the car.  He walked  calmly towards the hospital entrance, trying not to look out of place.  As he crossed through the automatic doors, he was greeted by the strong smell of disinfectant and the constant sound of footsteps, voices, and medical machines.

He looked around for Claudia.  He saw her walking down a corridor towards the bedroom area.  Alejandro kept a certain distance while following her with his eyes.  Claudia stopped in front of a white door with a large number on it. He took a deep breath before going in.  Alejandro stayed at the end of the corridor, watching from afar.

He couldn’t hear what was happening inside the room, but he saw something through the small glass in the door.  Claudia approached a bed where someone was lying down, took the hand of the person who was there and lowered her head.  Even from that distance, Alejandro could notice how her shoulders moved slightly.  I was crying again.

Alejandro felt his heart beating faster.  Everything was starting to make more sense, but I still didn’t know exactly what was happening inside that room.  He remained in the hallway for several minutes, unsure whether to approach or leave.  Finally, he decided to take a few more steps towards the door.

He could see more clearly through the glass .  In the bed was an elderly woman connected to several machines.  Her face was pale and her breathing seemed slow.  Claudia was sitting next to him, holding his hand tightly. Alejandro couldn’t hear her words, but he could see the pain in her expression. At that moment, Alejandro understood something important.

The tears every night were not a coincidence.  Claudia had been carrying a huge worry for days, maybe weeks, while during the day she continued to smile for Mateo. [music] Alejandro stared at the scene in silence, feeling that he had just discovered a part of Claudia’s life that no one else in the house knew.

And as he watched the woman in bed and Claudia sitting next to her, he began to realize that this story was probably much more difficult than he had imagined. Alejandro stood still in the hospital corridor, looking through the small glass in the door.  Inside the room, [music] Claudia was sitting next to the older woman’s bed .

The white light in the room made everything look cold.  The woman was connected to several wires and a machine that emitted a constant sound, like a small beep that repeated every few seconds.  Claudia had her head bowed and was holding the woman’s hand tightly. [music] Although Alexander could not hear what she was saying, he could clearly see that she was speaking.

Sometimes she moved her lips slowly, and other times she closed her eyes as if trying to hold back tears.  Alejandro felt a strange discomfort, as if he were seeing something too private.  For a few seconds he thought about turning around and leaving, but his feet wouldn’t move.  Something kept him there, trying to understand the situation.  A few minutes passed.

Claudia wiped her tears with the sleeve of her sweater and arranged the blanket over the woman’s chest.  Then he leaned a little closer to her, as if he wanted her to hear him better. Alejandro saw his shoulders move again.  It was obvious that she was crying again.  At that moment, a nurse appeared walking down the hall with a folder in her hand.

Alejandro moved a little away from the door so as not to look like someone who was spying.  The nurse stopped in front of the room and looked at Alejandro curiously.  “Do you need anything?” she asked kindly. Alejandro hesitated for a moment before answering. “Actually, I wanted to know if the lady in that room is okay,” he said, gesturing discreetly toward the door.

The nurse glanced at the room number and then back at Alejandro. “Is she a relative?” she asked. Alejandro thought quickly. Not exactly, I only know the person who’s visiting her. The nurse stared at the door for a few seconds and then lowered her voice slightly. “The lady’s name is Rosa Hernández. She’s been here for several weeks.

” Alejandro felt the name stick in his mind. Hernández. The same last name as Claudia. “Is that her daughter who’s with her?” he asked. The nurse nodded. “Yes. Claudia comes every night after work.” [music] Alejandro felt a weight settle in his chest at that. “What’s wrong with the lady?” he asked carefully.

The nurse sighed slightly before answering. “A serious heart problem. She needs complicated surgery.” Alejandro frowned. [music] “And she hasn’t had it yet?” The nurse shook her head. “The operation is very expensive.”  The hospital can perform the surgery, but the family must cover a very large portion of the cost.

Alejandro felt the silence in the hallway grow heavier. “And they don’t have the money?” he asked. The nurse looked back at the door with a serious expression. “Claudia has been trying to get it for months. She works all day and then comes here every night. Sometimes she stays very late.” [music] Alejandro immediately imagined all the times he had seen her leave his house with tears in her eyes.

It was all starting to make sense. “Is the lady seriously ill?” he asked. The nurse nodded slowly. [music] “Yes, the doctors say the operation must be done soon.” Otherwise, she left the sentence unfinished, but Alejandro understood perfectly what she meant. They were both silent for a few seconds. Inside the room, Claudia was still sitting by the bed.

She was gently stroking her mother’s hand . Alejandro looked through the glass again. The older woman’s face was calm, but her breathing seemed shallow. Claudia was talking to her, though perhaps she couldn’t hear her. The nurse spoke again.  “Your daughter is very strong,” she said. “But you can see how tired she is.

” Alejandro didn’t respond right away. He felt something stirring inside him. During the day, Claudia always seemed calm, patient, [music] full of energy for Mateo. She never mentioned problems or worries, and yet every night she carried that weight. ” How long has she been hospitalized?” Alejandro asked. “Almost two months,” the nurse replied.

Alejandro ran a hand over his forehead. Two months. That meant Claudia had been living with this anguish long before she started working from home. The nurse glanced at her watch. “I have to continue my rounds,” she said. “But if you ‘re a friend of Claudia’s, perhaps you should speak with her.”  “Sometimes carrying everything alone is just too hard.

” Alejandro nodded slowly. “Thank you for telling me.” The nurse continued walking down the corridor and disappeared around the corner. Alejandro stood there staring at the door to the room. He didn’t know whether to go in or leave without saying anything. After a few minutes, the door opened.

Claudia came out into the corridor, wiping her tears with a handkerchief. When she looked up and saw Alejandro standing in front of her, [music] she froze. “Mr. Alejandro,” she said, surprised. Her voice clearly showed that she hadn’t expected to see him there. Alejandro also felt uncomfortable for a moment. [music] He didn’t know how to explain his presence without admitting that he had followed her.

“I was nearby,” he began. Claudia looked at him with a mixture of surprise and embarrassment. Her eyes were still red from crying. Alejandro took a deep breath. “I came because I was worried,” he finally said sincerely. Claudia looked down at the floor. For a few seconds, neither of them spoke. The sound of the hospital machines filled the silence.

“It’s my [music] mom,” Claudia finally said in a low voice. Alejandro nodded.  “I figured as much.” Claudia glanced toward the bedroom door. The doctors say she needs heart surgery. Her hands trembled slightly as she spoke. Alejandro listened without interrupting. “I’ve been trying to get the money,” Claudia continued. ” I work here, I work there, but it’s too much.

” Her eyes filled with tears again. Alejandro felt a lump in his throat seeing her like this. [music] Claudia had put on a strong face in front of Mateo every day, but now it was clear she was exhausted. “I didn’t want anyone in the house to know,” she said. “I didn’t want to bring my problems to work.

” Alejandro looked toward the bedroom door where his mother was. Then he looked back at Claudia. At that moment, he fully understood why she left every night with tears in her eyes. [music] It wasn’t just sadness; it was fear of losing the only person she had left. And as Alejandro looked at Claudia’s tired face in the cold hospital light, he began to feel that this story was no longer something distant he had simply discovered out of curiosity.

Now it was a reality right in front of him, waiting for a  a decision he wasn’t yet sure he was ready to make. Alejandro left the hospital that night, his mind racing . He walked slowly to his car, the fresh air caressing his face. The city continued at its normal pace, with cars passing and people walking on the sidewalk, but everything seemed slower to him .

He started the car and sat behind the wheel for a few seconds before driving off. The image of Claudia sitting by her mother’s bedside kept flashing through his mind. During the day, she seemed calm, always smiling at Mateo, playing with him, making up stories about dinosaurs or toy car races. But at night, after leaving the house, she carried a heavy worry that no one in her home could have imagined.

Alejandro drove back home without turning on the radio. The drive felt longer than usual. He thought about his conversation with the nurse, about Claudia’s words, about the fear he had seen in her eyes when she spoke about her mother’s surgery. When he arrived at the mansion, the garage door opened slowly, and the car pulled in.

Silence. He turned off the engine and sat for a few more moments, [music] staring at the steering wheel as if waiting for some answer to appear there. Finally, he got out of the car and walked toward the house. Inside, everything was quiet; the living room lights were off, and the hallway was illuminated only by a small lamp.

Alejandro walked to the kitchen and poured himself a glass of water. As he drank, he remembered the way Claudia had held her mother’s hand in the hospital. It was a mixture of affection and despair. After placing the glass in the sink, he walked slowly toward Mateo’s room. He pushed the door open carefully so as not to wake him.

The boy was asleep, hugging one of his toy cars. The dim light in the room made his face look peaceful. Alejandro moved a little closer to the bed. He thought about what Mateo had gone through when Mariana died. He remembered the nights the boy cried because he wanted to see his mother.

He remembered the feeling of not knowing how to comfort him because he himself was lost. For two years, he had felt that no one understood that pain. Now, suddenly, he realized Claudia was experiencing something similar, though in a different way. [music] She gently closed Mateo’s bedroom door and walked to her own room.

[music] That night, she had trouble sleeping. She tossed and turned, thinking the same question over and over . What could she do? [music] The next day, the routine began early. Alejandro got up before his alarm went off, went down to the kitchen, and found Carmen making coffee. [music] “Good morning, Mr. Alejandro,” she said in her usual kind tone.

“Good morning,” he replied. As he sipped his coffee, he heard Mateo’s voice in the hallway. The boy was running toward the living room. [music] Claudia was chasing after him, smiling. Mateo was carrying two plastic dinosaurs. “Today we’re going to build a city for them, Dad,” [music] he announced enthusiastically.

Alejandro looked at his son in surprise. That energy was still something new to him. His gaze met Claudia’s for a moment. She seemed a little more  Tired as usual, but she still smiled. “Good morning, Mr. Alejandro,” [music] she said naturally, as if the conversation at the hospital the night before had never happened.

“Good morning, Claudia,” he replied.  Mateo was already arranging cushions on the floor to begin his new construction.  Claudia sat down next to him and began to help him.  [music] Alejandro watched them from the dining room table. Seeing them together gave him a strange feeling.  I knew what Claudia had gone through the night before and yet she was there [music] acting like everything was fine.

During breakfast, Mateo talked nonstop about the dinosaur city they were building.  Carmen smiled when she heard it.  Alejandro barely participated in the conversation because his mind was still occupied with what he had discovered.  After breakfast, Alejandro took his jacket to go to the office.

Before leaving, he went over to where Mateo and Claudia were playing. The boy had built a kind of mountain with cushions and blocks.  “This is the volcano,” Mateo explained, pointing to the structure.  Claudia picked up a dinosaur and made it walk around. “Careful, it might erupt,” he said jokingly.  Mateo let out a laugh.

Alejandro watched the scene silently for a few seconds.  Then he looked at Claudia.  “Thank you for everything you do for Mateo,” she said sincerely. Claudia looked up, surprised by the comment.  “It’s a pleasure to take care of him,” he replied.  Alejandro nodded and left the house for work, but that day he couldn’t concentrate as usual.

During a meeting with his partners, he found himself looking out the window while the others were talking. I was thinking about the operation Claudia’s mother needed, about the worry she carried every day without saying anything.  When the meeting ended, one of his partners asked him a question about an important contract.

Alejandro took a few seconds to answer because his mind was elsewhere.  At the end of the day, he returned home a little earlier than usual.  [music] Upon entering, she heard Mateo’s laughter again from the garden.  He approached the window and saw Claudia chasing the child as they both ran around a tree.

Mateo was pretending to escape from an imaginary dinosaur.  Alejandro placed a hand against the glass as he watched them.  He thought about how easy it would be for him to solve the problem Claudia was facing.  For someone with his fortune, the cost of an operation was a figure that would barely affect his accounts.  But for Claudia, it represented something impossible.

As he watched them run through the garden, Alejandro began to feel that he could n’t stand idly by knowing what he knew.  However, he also understood that helping someone in that way was not a small decision. And as the afternoon wore on and the sun began to set, Alejandro continued to gaze at the garden with the feeling that very soon he would have to make a decision that would change more than one life within that house.

That night, Alejandro Montaño hardly spoke during dinner.  Mateo was sitting across from him telling a long story about a dinosaur that had built a house inside a volcano made of cushions. Claudia listened attentively, asking him simple questions that encouraged him to continue.  Carmen walked between the kitchen and the table carrying plates and glasses.

From the outside it looked like a normal, calm, even familiar scene. But Alejandro was barely listening to the conversation.  His mind was elsewhere.  Every time he looked at Claudia, he remembered the hospital room, the white bed, the elderly woman connected to machines, and her tired face as she held her mother’s hand. After dinner, Mateo insisted on showing his dad the dinosaur city he had built during the afternoon.

Alejandro sat on the floor next to him while the boy excitedly explained each part.  Claudia was nearby, observing the scene with a discreet smile. [music] Alejandro tried to concentrate on what Mateo was saying, but the same idea kept coming back to his head over and over again .  The operation, [music], the money, the time that Claudia’s mother had been waiting for.

When Mateo finally started yawning, Claudia took him to his room to prepare him for sleep.  Alejandro stayed in the living room looking at the dinosaur city made with toys, cushions and blocks.  The boy had placed a small figure on a mountain.  “That’s the one who saves everyone,” he had said enthusiastically minutes earlier .

Alejandro stared at the plastic figure, as if the toy could answer something.  After a few minutes he got up and walked towards the kitchen.  Carmen was washing some dishes.  “Mr. Alejandro, the little one was very happy today,” she commented while placing a glass in the dish rack.  Alejandro nodded.  “Yes, I noticed it.”  Carmen smiled.

Since Claudia arrived, the house feels different. Alejandro was silent for a moment, then he took a glass of water and drank slowly.  Carmen watched him with curiosity.  “Is something wrong?” he asked. Alejandro shook his head.  No, nothing. But in reality, his mind kept revolving around the same decision.  Minutes later, Claudia returned from Mateo’s room .  The child was already asleep.

She walked towards the living room with her bag slung over her shoulder.  “Good evening, Mr. Alejandro,” he said casually.  Mateo collapsed today.  Alejandro nodded. He played a lot.  Claudia smiled slightly.  Yes. When a child is having fun, they forget about sleep until the very last moment.  She took the strap of her bag and walked towards the front door.

Alejandro got up from the sofa almost immediately.  Claudia stopped when she saw him approaching.  “Is something wrong?” he asked.  Alejandro hesitated for a few seconds before speaking.  “Claudia,” he finally said.  She looked at him attentively.  “Yeah.”  Alejandro took a deep breath. I have to go to the office later tomorrow .

I was planning to stop by San Gabriel Hospital first.  Claudia remained motionless.  His eyes showed immediate surprise.  “Alp,” he asked.  Alejandro nodded.  To talk to the doctors about your mom’s surgery. Claudia’s face changed completely.  For a few seconds he seemed not to understand what he had heard.  Mr. Alejandro, he began to speak.

Alejandro gently raised a hand .  “Listen to me first,” he said calmly. Claudia remained silent. Alejandro continued speaking. “I know the operation is very expensive, and I know you’ve been trying to get the money on your own.” Claudia lowered her gaze. Her hands began to fidget nervously around the strap of her purse. “I didn’t want you to find out,” she said quietly.

Alejandro shook his head. “You didn’t do anything wrong.” Claudia looked up again. “But it’s my business. You do n’t have to get involved.” Alejandro watched her calmly. “Maybe I didn’t say it, but I want to.” Claudia remained completely still. Alejandro continued. “I’ll talk to the doctors tomorrow.

I’m going to pay for your mother’s operation.” The silence that followed was so profound it seemed to fill the entire house. Claudia looked at him as if trying to confirm that what she had heard was real. Her lips moved slightly, but no words came out at first. “No, I can’t accept that,” she finally said.

Alejandro looked at her serenely. “Of course you can.” Claudia shook her head several times. “It’s not fair. It’s too much money.” Alejandro nodded.  A hand on the back of a chair. It’s not a problem for me. It is for you. Claudia felt her eyes fill with tears again. “I ca n’t ask you for something like that,” she said.  “You ‘re not asking for it,” Alejandro replied.

[music] “I’m offering it.” Claudia took a deep breath, trying to control her emotion.  “Mr. Alejandro, I.”  Alejandro gently interrupted her.  “You’ve done something very important for my son.”  Claudia looked at him, uncomprehending.  Mateo started laughing again after you arrived.  That’s priceless to me.

Tears began to roll down Claudia’s cheeks, and she couldn’t stop them.  Alejandro continued speaking calmly.  If I can help your mom, I want to.  Claudia covered her mouth with one hand as she tried to hold back her tears.  “I never imagined it,” he said with difficulty.  Alejandro kept his voice calm.  I’ll talk to the hospital tomorrow.

Claudia took a step back as if she needed space to breathe.  “I don’t know how to thank you,” she said, her voice breaking.  Alejandro shook his head gently.  You don’t have to do it. Claudia lowered her gaze as the tears continued to fall.  For several seconds, neither of them spoke.  The house was completely silent. Finally, Claudia looked up again.  “Thank you,” she said softly.

Alejandro nodded with a calm expression.  That night, when Claudia left the house, her eyes were still full of tears, but this time they were not the same tears that Alejandro had seen every night before. As she walked toward the street under the lamplight, something inside her began to feel a hope that had been lost for a long time.

And inside the house, Alejandro stood in the living room staring at the closed door, aware that he had just made a decision that was about to change much more than just the life of a woman in a hospital.  [music] The next morning, Claudia woke up before the alarm went off.  I had slept little.  Every time she closed her eyes, she heard Alejandro’s voice again saying that he was going to pay for her mother’s operation.

For hours [music] she had thought that perhaps she had misunderstood him, that maybe he had only wanted to reassure her, that when the day came everything would look different, but deep down she knew that wasn’t the case.  There was something about the way Alejandro spoke the night before that left no room for doubt.  It was a decision that had been made.

Even so , her heart was beating strongly as she got ready to go home.  He felt a strange mixture of hope, fear, and a kind of nervousness that tightened his chest. When she arrived at Alejandro’s mansion, Carmen was already in the kitchen preparing breakfast.  [music] “Good morning, Claudia,” he said in his usual friendly tone .

“Good morning,” she replied, trying to sound normal.  Carmen looked at her for a second.  “Did you sleep well?” Claudia hesitated for just a moment.  “Yes, more or less,” he replied.  Actually, my thoughts were all jumbled up. Minutes later Mateo appeared running down the hall wearing a dinosaur t-shirt and with messy hair. Claudia smiled immediately upon seeing him.

“Good morning, Mateo.”  The boy raised his arms.  “Today I want to make cookies,” she announced.  [music] Carmen let out a small laugh from the kitchen.  “Eat breakfast first, young man,” he said. Mateo grimaced, but sat down at the table.  Claudia began serving him fruit while trying not to look up at the stairs every five seconds.

waiting for Alejandro to come down.  When he finally appeared, dressed in dark trousers and a light shirt, Claudia felt her shoulders tense up.  He looked more serious than usual, but not cold, just focused.  “Good morning,” he said, looking at the three of them.  “Good morning, Mr. Alejandro,” Carmen replied.

Matthew raised his hand.  “Dad, today we’re going to make cookies.”  Alejandro looked at his son and for a moment his expression softened.  “Then I hope you’ll save me some,” Mateo said.  He nodded very seriously, as if it were an important deal.  Alejandro took a cup of coffee and then looked at Claudia.  Can you come to the office for a moment before we start with Mateo?  Claudia felt a slight flutter in her stomach.

Claro replied.  Mateo watched them curiously as Alejandro walked towards the office.  Claudia followed him.  Upon entering, he gently closed the door. On the desk there was a white folder and Alejandro’s cell phone.  He stood there for a few seconds as if organizing his words.  “I already spoke with the hospital,” he finally said.

Claudia stared at him without blinking.  [music] ” I also spoke with your mother’s doctor. The operation can be scheduled very soon.”  Claudia clasped her hands in front of her body.  “He really did talk to them.”  Alejandro nodded. Everything is covered now.  The surgery, the studies, the treatment after the operation.

all.  Claudia felt like her legs were barely responding.  He took a step towards the chair that was in front of the desk and placed a hand on the backrest.  She repeated everything in a low voice, as if she needed to hear the word again to believe it.  Alejandro opened the folder and showed it to her .  Here is the information.

The hospital confirmed to me that they would notify you today.  Claudia looked down at the papers, but the letters were all mixed up in her mind.  Her eyes began to fill with tears [music] and this time she couldn’t stop them.  He covered his mouth with one hand as he tried to take a breath. Mr.

Alejandro, I—he gently denied it .  Don’t say anything right now if you can’t .  But Claudia did want to say something.  I wanted to say a lot.  I wanted to explain to him that I had spent months jumping from job to job, taking out loans, selling things, doing impossible calculations in an old notebook to see how to put together an amount that was always too far away.

I wanted to tell him that every night I arrived at the hospital afraid of hearing that it was already late. I wanted to tell her that I had felt ashamed for not being able to save my own mother.  But at that moment, words would n’t come out, only tears. Alejandro walked around the desk and handed her a handkerchief.

Claudia took it with trembling hands.  “Thank you,” he barely managed to say.  He looked at her calmly.  “Your mother is going to have the opportunity she needs.” That’s what’s important.  Claudia dried her tears, but more kept coming.  “I don’t know how to thank you for this,” she replied, her voice breaking.

Alejandro was silent for a moment, then said something that made her look up.  Sometimes life puts you in front of people who arrive just when you weren’t expecting anything good anymore. Claudia looked at him, not knowing what to say.  Alejandro continued, “You came to this house when Mateo and I were at our lowest point.

Maybe now it’s my turn to do something for you.”  Claudia lowered her gaze again because she felt she was going to completely break down.  No one had ever done anything like that for her.  [music] Nobody.  At that moment, Alejandro’s cell phone rang on the desk.  He saw the screen.  “It’s from the hospital,” he said. He answered immediately.  Yes, doctor.

Claudia remained still, listening only to part of the conversation.  Alejandro asked specific questions, confirmed dates, and requested details.  His tone was firm, confident, [music] as if he had been busy for hours figuring everything out.  After a few minutes he hung up, “They’re going to expect you this afternoon to sign some documents and explain the procedure to you,” he said.

Claudia looked at him with wide eyes .  “Today, today,” he replied. Claudia let out a sudden breath, as if the world had suddenly started moving too fast.  Alejandro noticed his nervousness.  If you’d like, I can accompany you after work or send someone from my office to help you with whatever you need.

Claudia shook her head reflexively, but then hesitated.   I don’t want to cause you any more trouble.  “It’s no trouble at all,” Alejandro replied.  It was a simple phrase, but said so naturally, that Claudia felt another lump in her throat.  Before he could answer, there was a knock on the office door.  It was Matthew.

“Dad, I want to make the cookies now,” she said from outside. Alejandro and Claudia looked at each other for a second.  He opened the door.  Mateo entered and immediately noticed Claudia’s face.   ” Are you crying?” he asked with the direct sincerity of a child.  Claudia quickly wiped her cheeks and tried to smile.

“They are good tears,” Mateo replied.  He frowned.  There are those too.  Alejandro crouched down a little to be at her level.  Yes, champ. Sometimes people cry when something really good happens.  Mateo looked at Claudia intently, as if trying to understand a very serious matter.  Then he stretched out his arms and hugged her around the waist.

Claudia closed her eyes as she felt that small, unexpected hug.  “Thank you,” said Mateo, not knowing exactly why he was saying it.  Perhaps only because she felt that something nice needed to be said at that moment.  Claudia stroked her hair. “Let’s make the cookies,” she said, her voice still trembling.

The three of them left the office.  In the kitchen, Carmen already had flour and sugar on the table.  Mateo began giving instructions as if he were the head chef of a famous kitchen.  Claudia tried to concentrate on the dough, the molds, the oven, but inside she was still reliving what had just happened.  Several times he had to step away for a second to dry his eyes.

Carmen noticed it, but did n’t ask anything.  Mid-morning, while the cookies were baking, Claudia’s phone rang inside her bag.  She took it out and saw the hospital’s number .  He stepped back a few paces to answer.  Well, on the other end they confirmed that Mrs. Rosa’s surgery was already scheduled and that she should come in that same afternoon to review the final details.

Claudia closed her eyes tightly.  “Yes, I’ll be there,” he replied.  When she hung up, she remained still for a few seconds.  There was no longer any doubt, everything was real.  She turned around slowly and saw Alejandro on the other side of the kitchen, standing by the bar, silently watching her.

Claudia walked towards him with her cell phone still in her hand.  “They already called me,” he said. Alejandro nodded.  Claudia tried to speak calmly, but emotion got the better of her again.  That’s right, it’s already scheduled.  Her voice broke again. Before she could think too much about what she was doing, she took another step and threw herself into his arms.

It was a hug full of relief, of accumulated tiredness, of fear suddenly being released .  Alejandro tensed up for just a second in surprise, but then gently returned the hug.  Claudia cried against his chest, unable to stop.  “Thank you,” he repeated over and over .  “Thank you, thank you.”  Alejandro said nothing at first, he just held her firmly, letting her get out everything she had been keeping inside for months.

A few meters away, Mateo stared at them with his eyes wide open, still with a little flour on his cheek.  Carmen, who immediately understood that something important was happening, took the boy by the hand and told him in a low voice to go check the cookies.  Claudia pulled away a few seconds later, embarrassed for having gotten carried away.

“I’m sorry,” she said, wiping her face. “I don’t know what came over me.” Alejandro looked her straight in the eyes. “Yes, you do,” he replied calmly. “You just received news you’ve been waiting for for a long time.” Claudia lowered her gaze, still trembling. “I’ll never forget this,” she said. [music] Alejandro wanted to say something, but he stopped because at that moment he understood that this decision hadn’t only changed Claudia’s and her mother’s lives, it had also stirred something inside him that had been

dormant for too long. The days that followed the news of the operation changed the rhythm of many things in Alejandro Montaño’s house. It wasn’t a sudden change that anyone could pinpoint in a single moment. It was more a series of small gestures, glances, and silences that began to appear between Alejandro and Claudia.

Mateo continued with his usual energy. He ran around the house with his dinosaurs, invented new stories, and every afternoon he eagerly awaited his father’s return from work so he could show him something he had built with Claudia. But now there was something else in the air, something Carmen noticed even before anyone else.

That afternoon, after Claudia returned from the hospital after signing the papers for her mother’s surgery, she arrived home with a tired face, but a different expression. It wasn’t the same sadness Alejandro had seen so many nights. It was a mixture of nerves and hope. Carmen greeted her in the kitchen.

“How is your mother?” she asked softly. Claudia placed her bag on the chair. “The operation will be in a few days,” she replied. Carmen placed a hand on her chest. “What a blessing,” she said sincerely. Claudia nodded, but her eyes welled up with tears again. “I still can’t believe it.” At that moment, Mateo came running down the hall.

“Claudia, [music], come see what I did!” he shouted, grabbed her hand, and pulled her into the living room. He had built a huge track for his toy cars using books, boxes, and cushions. Alejandro hadn’t arrived home from work yet, so Mateo was determined to show it to Claudia first. When Alejandro entered the house later that afternoon, he immediately heard the sound of the toy cars crashing into the furniture and Mateo’s laughter.  filling the room.

She left the keys on the table and walked toward the source of the noise. Mateo was lying on the floor, pushing a red toy car around the makeshift track. Claudia was sitting nearby, cheering him on as if she were narrating an important race. “And here comes the champion around the last turn,” she said in a playful voice.

Mateo looked up when he saw his dad. “Dad, you have to see this.”  Alejandro smiled slightly and crouched down next to him.  It seems like a complicated clue.  Mateo nodded seriously.  [music] “Yes, because the volcano is here.”  He pointed to a pile of cushions that was clearly in the way.  Alejandro picked up a blue cart from the ground.

“Can I compete?” he asked.  Mateo looked at him as if he were evaluating whether his dad was worthy of participating. “That’s fine, but if you lose you can’t get angry.”  Alejandro let out a small laugh.  Deal done.  For several minutes, the three of them were on the floor playing as if nothing else existed. Mateo screamed every time a toy car crashed or flew off.

Claudia feigned exaggerated surprise at every dangerous turn.  Alejandro got more involved in the game than he would have imagined days before.  [music] Carmen watched them from the kitchen with a discreet smile while cleaning some dishes.  After a while, Mateo began to yawn.  Although he tried to hide it so he could keep playing, Claudia looked at him knowingly.

“I think the driver needs to rest for the next race,” he said.  Mateo shook his head, but the yawn that came immediately afterwards betrayed him. Alejandro got up from the floor.  “It’s time to sleep, champ.”  Mateo protested a little, but ended up accepting when Claudia promised him that tomorrow they could build an even bigger track.

She accompanied him to his room to prepare him for sleep while Alejandro stayed in the living room arranging some toys. When Claudia returned a few minutes later, the house was silent again .  Alejandro was standing by the table picking up some shopping carts.  Mateo fell asleep quickly, Claudia said. Alejandro nodded.  He played a lot today.

There was a brief silence between the two.  It wasn’t awkward, but it was different from the silences of previous days.  Claudia approached to pick up some blocks that had been left on the floor.  “Thanks again for my mom,” she said suddenly without looking up.  Alejandro placed the shopping cart he was holding on the table.

[music] You don’t have to thank him every time we talk.  Claudia looked up .  “But I want to do it.” Alejandro watched her for a few seconds. “How is she today?” Claudia asked.  She took a deep breath, a little tired, but calm.  Doctors say the surgery has a good chance of success. That makes her feel stronger.  [music] Alejandro nodded with a calm expression.  I’m glad to hear that.

Claudia hesitated for a moment before speaking again .  I never thought someone would do something like this for me.  Alejandro placed a hand on the back of a chair.  Sometimes life changes when you least expect it. Claudia smiled slightly.  That seems to be the case. [music] For a few seconds, neither of them said anything.

The cool night air came in through the window from the garden.  Alejandro walked to the kitchen and took two glasses.  “Do you want water?” he asked.  [music] Yes, thank you, Claudia replied.  They sat down at the dining room table, something that hadn’t happened before when Mateo was already asleep.

The soft light from the lamp illuminated the wooden table. Alejandro drank some water before speaking.  Mateo loves you very much.  Claudia smiled sincerely.  He is a special child.  Alejandro looked towards the hallway that led to the child’s room. After Mariana died, he changed a lot.  Claudia listened in silence.  He no longer played, he hardly spoke.

Alejandro looked down at his glass.  I didn’t know how to help him either.  Claudia watched him attentively.  It must not have been easy. Alejandro shook his head slightly.  It wasn’t.  Then she looked up again, but she paused when you arrived.  Claudia looked at him, waiting for him to finish the sentence.  The house feels different.

Claudia lowered her gaze for a moment.  Mateo just needed to feel accompanied. Alejandro shook his head gently.  It’s not just that.  You also brought something different here.  Claudia didn’t know what to answer immediately.  I felt a strange mixture of nervousness and calm at the same time.  Outside, the night was calm.

The city seemed quieter than usual. [music] Alejandro drank some more water and then looked at Claudia with a more relaxed expression than he had weeks before.  [music] Maybe this house also needed to relearn how to laugh.  Claudia looked up and watched him.  For a few seconds, neither of them spoke, but in that silence something new was growing between them, something that neither of them was naming yet, but that was beginning to feel clearer with each passing day inside that house, which was slowly filling with life again.  The days before

Doña Rosa’s operation passed with a mixture of nerves and hope.  At Alejandro Montaño’s house, everything continued to function with the same routine as always, but for Claudia, each day seemed longer than the last.  In the mornings he would arrive early to take care of Mateo, play with him and help him with his small tasks.

During those hours I tried to keep my mind occupied. Mateo was helping her without knowing it.  The boy had an energy that filled every corner of the house, invented new games, asked curious questions, and often managed to make Claudia forget for a moment the hospital, the doctors, and the operation that was getting closer and closer.

But when the clock struck evening, the nerves returned. That week, Alejandro also seemed more attentive than usual.  She didn’t say it directly, but she always found a way to ask how Doña Rosa was doing or if Claudia needed anything else for the hospital paperwork. One afternoon, while Mateo was building a huge tower with colored blocks in the living room, Alejandro arrived home from work a little earlier than usual.

Claudia was sitting on the floor helping Mateo balance the pieces.  The boy looked up as soon as he saw his dad come in.  “Dad, look what we did,” he said, pointing to the tower that was almost as tall as the table. Alejandro put his jacket on a chair and walked over to them. “It looks really tall,” Mateo commented.

He nodded proudly.  “But if you put this block in wrong, the whole thing will collapse.”  Alejandro crouched down next to them and picked up one of the blocks that were on the ground. “Then we have to put it on carefully.” said.  Mateo watched him very seriously as Alejandro slowly placed the piece .

When the tower was stable, the boy raised his arms as if they had won a competition. Claudia laughed softly at the scene.  Alejandro looked up at her for a moment.  “How is your mom doing today?” he asked.  Claudia took a deep breath before answering.  “The doctors say he’s stable. The surgery is tomorrow morning.

”  Alejandro nodded calmly.  Mateo listened to the conversation without fully understanding it.  “Is your mom in the hospital?” he asked, looking at Claudia.  [music] “Yes,” she replied softly.  Mateo thought for a few seconds.  “Then, when he’s healed, he can come and play with us.” Claudia smiled when she heard that.

“Hopefully soon,” he replied.  [music] That night after Mateo went to sleep, Claudia got ready to go to the hospital.  Alejandro was in the living room reviewing some papers when she appeared with her bag.  “I’m going to spend the night there,” he explained.  Alejandro looked up .  Do you want someone from the house to take you?  Claudia shook her head.  There’s no need.

I can take a taxi.  Alejandro closed the folder he was holding.  I can take you. Claudia hesitated for a few seconds.  I don’t want to bother him.  “It’s no trouble,” [music] he replied calmly as he picked up his car keys.  Minutes later, they were both in Alejandro’s car, driving through the city’s illuminated streets .

Traffic was lighter at that time.  During the first few minutes, neither of them spoke.  Claudia stared out the window while clutching her purse.  Alejandro was driving calmly.  “Are you nervous?” she finally asked.  [music] Claudia let out a small nervous laugh.  A lot.  Alejandro nodded.  It’s normal.  Claudia looked ahead.

Sometimes I feel like all of this is too good to be true.  Alejandro did not respond immediately, he just continued driving while he thought about her words.  [music] When they arrived at the hospital, Alejandro parked near the entrance.  Claudia looked at him gratefully.  Thank you for bringing me.  Alejandro nodded.

I’ll come early tomorrow to find out how everything turned out.  Claudia opened the car door, but stopped before getting out.  Alejandro, he looked at her.  Whatever happens tomorrow, I want you to know that I will never forget what you did for us.  Alejandro held her gaze for a few seconds.  “Your mom is strong,” he finally said.

Claudia nodded and got out of the car. She walked quickly toward the hospital entrance. Alejandro watched for a few moments as she disappeared behind the automatic doors. [music] The next morning, the hospital was bustling. Nurses walked the halls, doctors talked amongst themselves, and some families sat waiting, their faces tense.

Claudia had been awake for hours. She had spent almost the entire night by her mother’s bedside. Doña Rosa was calm, though a little weak. At 8:00 a.m., the doctors arrived to prepare everything. “It’s time,” one of them said calmly. Claudia felt her heart pound as she watched them move the bed into the hallway. She gently took her mother’s hand.

“Everything is going to be alright,” she said, trying to sound confident. Doña Rosa looked at her with a small smile. “Thank you for not giving up, daughter.” Claudia felt her eyes welling up with tears. She didn’t reply because she knew that if she spoke, she would break down. The bed disappeared behind the doors of the  Operating room.

Claudia was left alone in the hallway. [Music] She walked to one of the chairs in the waiting room and sat down. Her hands trembled slightly. A few minutes passed that felt like hours. Then she heard a familiar voice. Claudia looked up . Alejandro was walking toward her down the hallway. He was carrying a cup of coffee.

“I brought you this,” he said, handing it to her. Claudia looked at him in surprise. “I thought I’d come later.” Alejandro sat down next to her. “I wanted to be here.” Claudia took the coffee with trembling hands. “Thank you.” They both remained silent, staring at the operating room door at the end of the hallway.

The hours began to pass slowly; sometimes they spoke a little, other times they simply sat without saying anything. Every time a doctor came out of the surgical area, Claudia raised her head hopefully. Finally, after several hours, a doctor in a green coat appeared, walking toward them. Claudia stood up immediately.

“Doctor,” she said, her voice strained. The doctor stopped in front of them and  He removed the surgical cap. The surgery went well. Claudia felt like her legs were almost unresponsive. “Really?” she asked in a whisper. The doctor nodded. “The operation was successful.”  “Now she just needs to recover.” Tears began to stream down Claudia’s face, unstoppable .

Alejandro stood beside her, watching the scene unfold. Claudia brought her hands to her face as relief washed over her. After months of fear, sleepless nights, and the thought of losing her mother, she finally heard the words she had longed for . The surgery had gone well. The weeks following Doña Rosa’s operation were different for everyone.

At the hospital, her recovery progressed slowly. The doctors said the surgery had been complicated, but the outcome was good. Doña Rosa was weak, but each day she showed a little more strength. Claudia visited the hospital whenever she could. Some afternoons, she left Alejandro’s house a little earlier to spend several hours with her mother.

Other times, she went after Mateo fell asleep, though the weariness was still evident on her face. The tears were no longer the same as before. Now her gaze held something different. There was relief, there was hope. At the house of  Alejandro sensed the change too. Mateo still had his usual energy, but Claudia seemed lighter when she played with him.

She laughed more easily and no longer stared silently at the ground when she thought about the hospital. One sunny afternoon, Mateo was in the garden chasing a ball while Claudia watched him from a bench. Alejandro arrived home from work just as the boy kicked the ball too hard, and it rolled to his father’s feet.

Mateo threw his arms up. “Dad, pass it to me!” Alejandro took the ball and tossed it back carefully. [music] Mateo ran after it excitedly. Alejandro walked over to the bench where Claudia was sitting. “How’s your mom doing?” he asked as he sat down. Claudia smiled slightly. “She’s better. Today she was able to walk a little in the hallway with the help of a nurse.” Alejandro nodded.

“That ‘s a good sign.” Claudia watched Mateo run back and forth in the garden. ” If everything continues like this, the doctors say she’ll be able to go home in a few weeks.” Alejandro put his hands on his knees. “I’m glad to hear that.” There was a brief silence as they both watched  The boy was playing.

The wind moved the leaves of the trees, and the sound of the ball hitting the grass filled the garden. Claudia looked at Alejandro for a moment. “I still can’t believe everything that happened,” [music] she said. Alejandro turned his head toward her. “What do you mean?” Claudia took a breath.

A few months ago, she was trying to scrape together money anywhere she could. She didn’t think she was going to make it. Alejandro listened silently. “And now my mom is alive thanks to you.” Alejandro shook his head slightly. The doctors did their job. Claudia looked at him with a small smile. “But without you, we never would have gotten this far.

” Alejandro didn’t respond right away. His eyes were on Mateo, who was now trying to kick the ball toward a tree as if it were an imaginary goal. After a moment, Alejandro spoke. “Mateo has been a child again since you arrived.” Claudia looked down for a second. She just needed company. Alejandro shook his head gently.

He also needed someone who understood his sadness. [music] Claudia looked up . The two stared at each other for a longer moment  than usual. It wasn’t an uncomfortable look, but it was different. [music] Something new was growing between them, something neither of them was naming yet. Mateo broke the spell as he ran toward them with the ball in his hands.

“Claudia, Dad, look at this,” he said, setting the ball on the ground and trying to balance on it. They both watched him intently. [music] Mateo stretched his arms out like an acrobat, but after a few seconds, he lost his balance and fell sitting on the grass. Instead of crying, he started laughing. Claudia laughed too . Alejandro shook his head with a small smile.

“You’re going to end up covered in dirt.” Mateo got up and dusted himself off. “It doesn’t matter.” Claudia looked at him fondly. ” Do you want some water?” Mateo nodded and ran toward the house. Claudia got up from the bench to go after him, but Alejandro spoke before she left. ” Claudia.” She stopped and looked at him. Alejandro hesitated for a second before continuing.

“I’m glad your mom is feeling better.” Claudia nodded. “Me too.” Alejandro got up from the  bench. For a moment it seemed he wanted to say something else, [music] but he didn’t . They both walked toward the house. Inside. Mateo was already in the kitchen trying to reach a glass in the cupboard. Carmen quickly appeared to help him. Mr.

Alejandro, a package arrived for you, she said, pointing to the table. Alejandro took the box while Mateo hurriedly drank some water. Claudia stayed nearby, watching the scene. During the following weeks, the routine continued, but something was slowly changing. Alejandro began spending more time at home in the afternoons.

Sometimes he sat on the floor with Mateo and Claudia putting together puzzles or playing with toy cars. Other times he simply watched them as they talked and laughed. One night, after Mateo went to bed, Alejandro and Claudia stayed in the kitchen finishing putting away some dishes. Carmen had already left.

The silence was peaceful. Claudia was drying a glass with a towel when Alejandro spoke. Do you like [music] coffee? Claudia looked up. Yes. Alejandro pointed to the coffee maker. I make a very good one when I’m not too tired. Claudia  She smiled. Then I should try it sometime. Alejandro brewed two cups.

The aroma of coffee filled the kitchen. They sat at the dining room table with the warm cups in their hands. The conversation began with simple things. They talked about the hospital, about Doña Rosa’s recovery , about the new games Mateo had invented that week. But little by little, the conversation shifted. Claudia told some stories from her childhood.

Alejandro spoke a little about Mariana for the first time without his voice becoming heavy. It was as if they were both discovering parts of each other they had n’t had time to see before. At some point, Claudia let out a small laugh at something Alejandro said. He stared at her for a few seconds longer than necessary.

When Claudia looked up and noticed the way he was watching her, she felt her heart beat faster. Neither of them said anything about that moment, but they both felt it. Outside, the night was quiet. Inside the house, at that table lit by a single lamp, something was beginning to grow between them without either of them being ready yet to name it aloud.

The change within  The changes at Alejandro Montaño’s house were no longer something only noticed by those who lived there. Little by little, they also became visible to other people in Alejandro’s life, especially at his company. For years, Alejandro had been known as a very work-oriented man . After his wife’s death, that dedication had only intensified.

He arrived early, stayed late, and almost never spoke about his personal life. His partners were used to seeing him serious, direct, and focused solely on numbers, contracts, and meetings. But in recent months, something was different. Alejandro was still responsible to his company, but he no longer spent every minute of the day locked in his office.

Sometimes he left a little earlier than usual; other times he declined last-minute meetings to go home. For some employees, this wasn’t a big deal, but for Rodrigo Salvatierra, it was. Rodrigo was one of the company’s main partners . He was 45 years old. He always wore impeccable suits and spoke with a confidence that sometimes bordered on arrogance.

For years, he had worked alongside Alejandro on several large projects.  Although on the outside he seemed like a reliable partner, in reality, Rodrigo had been waiting for an opportunity to have more control within the company. One afternoon, Rodrigo entered Alejandro’s office without knocking, as he usually did.

Alejandro was reviewing some documents at his desk. Rodrigo placed a folder on the table. “We need to discuss this contract with the investors in Monterrey,” he said. [music] Alejandro looked up. “Yes, I saw him this morning.”  We can review it early tomorrow.  Rodrigo crossed his arms. I have another meeting early tomorrow. Alejandro sighed slightly.

So, the day after tomorrow.  Rodrigo watched him attentively.  You’ve been hard to find in the afternoons lately.  He commented in a calm tone, but with a slight ulterior motive.  Alejandro leaned back in his chair.  I have other things to attend to.  Rodrigo walked slowly through the office while looking at some pictures on the wall.

It’s not like you to leave important matters for later. Alejandro closed the folder he was holding.  Rodrigo, if you want to say something, say it directly.  Rodrigo stopped in front of the desk.  I just notice that you’ve changed some priorities.  Alejandro looked at him expressionlessly.  Rodrigo continued speaking.

You used to be the first to arrive and the last to leave.  Now it seems that something else is occupying your time. Alejandro got up from his chair and walked towards the office window. The city stretched out before him, full of buildings and traffic.  “I continue to do my job,” he said calmly [music] .  Rodrigo smiled slightly.

Nobody said no, but the company also needs constant attention.  Alejandro turned his head to look at him.  She has it. Rodrigo raised his hands as if he didn’t want to argue.  I just hope that nothing personal starts to interfere with business decisions.  Alejandro watched him silently for a few seconds. Rodrigo had always had an elegant way of saying things that were actually warnings.

The meeting ended shortly afterwards, but Rodrigo left the office with a clear idea in his head. Something had changed in Alejandro’s life, and he wanted to know exactly what it was.  That same week, [music] Rodrigo began to ask some discreet questions.  He spoke with one of Alejandro’s assistants, then with a driver who occasionally worked for the company.

Little by little he began to hear comments about the new nanny who worked at Alejandro’s house , a woman named Claudia. Rodrigo didn’t say anything at first, but the information piqued his curiosity. One night, [music] during a dinner with other businessmen, Rodrigo mentioned the topic casually.  “Alejandro was always very private about his personal life,” he remarked over a sip of wine.

One of the men at the table replied, “I heard he’s been spending more time at home with his son lately.” Rodrigo nodded slowly. “Yes, it seems a new nanny arrived a few months ago.” Another man chuckled . “Well, after what happened with his wife, it’s no surprise he wants to rebuild his life.” Rodrigo raised an eyebrow in interest. Rebuild his life.

The man shrugged. “Just saying, these things happen.” Rodrigo didn’t say anything more during dinner, but the idea lingered in his mind. Days later, while reviewing some reports in his office, Rodrigo received a call from one of the contacts he had discreetly consulted. “The woman’s name is Claudia Hernández,” Rodrigo asked.

“Yes,” the voice on the other end replied. “She works taking care of Alejandro’s son.” Rodrigo leaned back in his chair. “Do you know anything else about her?” There was a pause before the answer. “Her mother was hospitalized a while ago  A little. A rather expensive heart surgery. Rodrigo frowned slightly.

And how did they pay for that? A small laugh came from the other end of the line . It seems Alejandro took care of everything. Rodrigo remained silent for a few seconds after hanging up. That information sparked more than just curiosity. If Alejandro was using his money to help an employee, it meant there was a closer relationship than it seemed.

Rodrigo got up from his chair and walked to his office window. He watched the city traffic with his arms crossed. For him, business and power had always been the most important things. And when someone with as much control as Alejandro started making decisions driven by emotions, Rodrigo saw an opportunity.

One afternoon, [music] on his way out of the office, Rodrigo decided to stop by a nearby coffee shop where he knew Alejandro sometimes stopped before heading home. He didn’t find him that day, but he did see something interesting as he was leaving. From his car, he watched Alejandro cross the street accompanied by a dark-haired woman. It was Claudia.

They were walking side by side  Next to them, they were talking calmly. Mateo was ahead of them, skipping over the lines on the pavement. Rodrigo watched them for a few seconds without them noticing, then smiled slightly. That scene confirmed what he was beginning to suspect. Alejandro Montaño, the man who had always been cold and calculating in business, was starting to become emotionally involved with the woman who worked in his house.

Rodrigo put his hands on the steering wheel as he continued watching the scene from his parked car.  Several ideas were already forming in his mind, and none of them were going to make life any easier for Claudia Hernández or Alejandro Montaño in the days to come. During the following days, Rodrigo Salvatierra began to move more carefully than before.

He wasn’t a man who acted hastily. [music] He had always been patient when it came to getting what he wanted. From his office, he observed every detail of Alejandro’s behavior. He noted when he arrived, when he left, and what decisions he made during meetings. The more he thought about what he had discovered about Claudia, the more convinced he was that this relationship could turn into  An advantage for him.

Rodrigo didn’t hate Alejandro, but he had felt like he lived in his shadow for years. The company had grown thanks to both of them, but the name that always appeared in the news was Alejandro Montaño’s. For Rodrigo, that had always been a silent annoyance. That morning, during a meeting in the company’s main room , several executives were discussing a new investment project.

Alejandro sat at the end of the table, listening attentively. Rodrigo participated in the conversation with his usual confident tone, but every now and then he glanced quickly at Alejandro. When the meeting ended, the others began to leave one by one . Rodrigo remained seated while Alejandro reviewed some papers.

Rodrigo broke the silence. “It seems you’ve had a lot on your mind lately,” he said in a tone that tried to sound casual. [music] Alejandro looked up . “There’s always something on your mind when you run a company like this.” Rodrigo nodded slowly. “Sure, but I’ve also noticed that you’ve been leaving early several days a week lately.

” Alejandro closed the folder that  He was facing him. “Rodrigo, if you want to ask me anything, go ahead.” Rodrigo rested his elbows on the table. “I just want to know if there’s anything I should know as a partner.” [music] Alejandro looked at him expressionlessly. “What exactly do you mean ?” Rodrigo leaned forward slightly.

“I’ve heard you’ve been very busy with personal matters.” Alejandro held his gaze. ” My personal life doesn’t affect the company’s operations.” Rodrigo raised his hands as if he didn’t want to start an argument. “I’m not saying it does. I’m just interested in understanding certain decisions.” [music] Alejandro stood up.

“If you’re concerned about any contracts or projects, we can review them right now.” Rodrigo also stood up. “No need. We’ll look at it later.” [music] Alejandro took his jacket from the back of the chair and left the meeting room without another word . Rodrigo watched him walk away, a thoughtful expression on his face.

That same afternoon, Rodrigo decided to take things a step further . He called one of the private investigators he sometimes used to verify information about partners or New investors. When the man answered, Rodrigo spoke calmly. I need you to find out everything you can about a woman named Claudia Hernández.

There was a brief silence on the other end . Any particular reason? Rodrigo smiled slightly as he looked out his office window. Let’s just say I want to make sure that someone close to the company is trustworthy. A few days passed before the investigator called again. Rodrigo was in his office when he heard the phone ring. He answered immediately. “I have information about the woman you mentioned,” said the voice on the other end.

Rodrigo leaned back in his chair. “I’m listening.” The investigator began to explain what he had found. Claudia had worked various jobs before moving into Alejandro’s house . She had babysat, worked in a coffee shop, and helped out at a small store for a few years. Nothing unusual up to that point, but then he mentioned something that caught Rodrigo’s attention.

A few months ago, her mother had been hospitalized with a serious heart condition. Rodrigo narrowed his eyes. Yes, he already knew that. The investigator  He continued. The operation was very expensive. Rodrigo waited a few seconds. [music] And how did they pay for it? The investigator responded with the same information Rodrigo already suspected.

Alejandro Montaño covered all the hospital expenses. Rodrigo let out a small laugh. That’s interesting. The investigator continued talking. Some neighbors say that Claudia’s family had financial problems before that. Rodrigo slowly turned his chair, looking at the city through the window. Perfect, [music] he thought.

When he hung up the phone, his mind was already organizing his next move. That night, Alejandro returned home as usual. Mateo was in the living room trying to build a castle with wooden blocks. Claudia was sitting next to him, helping him keep the towers from falling over. When Alejandro came in, Mateo ran to him with one of the blocks in his hand.

Dad, we’re making a giant castle! Alejandro smiled slightly and bent down to look at the construction. It looks strong, he said. Mateo nodded proudly. Claudia looked up and greeted him with a calm smile.  Good afternoon, Alejandro responded with a nod as he placed his jacket on a chair. For a moment, the three continued working on the block castle.

[music] Mateo talked nonstop, explaining where each tower would go. Claudia listened patiently. Alejandro calmly observed the scene. Meanwhile, several kilometers away, Rodrigo sat in his office with a glass of whiskey in his hand. On his desk were several sheets of paper with information about Claudia. He glanced at the photograph the investigator had obtained.

Then he placed the glass down on the table. A very clear idea was beginning to take shape in his mind. If he could plant the right seed of doubt in Alejandro’s mind, everything else could crumble on its own, because Rodrigo knew his partner well. He knew that Alejandro could be generous, but he also knew that after losing his wife, he had developed a deep fear of trusting anyone too much again.

Rodrigo smiled slightly as he turned off his office light. He just needed to use the right information at the right time, and he was convinced that when that moment arrived, the relationship between Alejandro and Claudia could become  at the weak point he had been waiting years to exploit [music] to shift the balance of power within the company.

During the following weeks, life inside Alejandro’s house seemed to be progressing peacefully. Mateo remained full of energy, inventing new games every day. Claudia continued to care for him with her usual patience, and Doña Rosa’s recovery continued to improve little by little. On the surface, everything was taking a positive turn, but while this calm prevailed within the house, Rodrigo Salvatierra was already preparing his moment to intervene.

One afternoon at the company, Alejandro was reviewing some reports when his secretary knocked on his office door. “Mr. Alejandro, Rodrigo would like to speak with you for a moment.” Alejandro looked up from his desk. “Tell him to come in.” Seconds later, Rodrigo entered with his usual confident stride. He carried a thin folder in his hand.

Alejandro immediately noticed that something about his expression was different. Rodrigo sat down at the desk without waiting for an invitation. “We need to talk about something important,” he said in a more serious tone than usual. Alejandro closed the document he was reviewing. What  What’s wrong? Rodrigo placed the folder on the table.

Before speaking, he looked him directly in the eyes. “Alejandro, you know I’ve always been straightforward with you?” Alejandro crossed his arms. “Get to the point.” Rodrigo opened the folder and took out some papers. “What I’m about to tell you might not be to your liking.” Alejandro frowned slightly. Rodrigo turned one of the papers toward him.

“Are you sure you know the woman who works in your house well?” Alejandro looked at him with immediate confusion. “What do you mean?” Rodrigo spoke calmly, as if he were discussing a purely professional matter. “I’m referring to Claudia.” Alejandro felt a slight discomfort in his chest. He didn’t understand why his partner was talking about her.

“What does Claudia have to do with the company?” Rodrigo placed his hands on the table. ” Maybe nothing, but when someone close to you can influence your decisions, [music] it does start to matter.” Alejandro was silent for a few seconds. Rodrigo continued. “I’ve heard some things that struck me as odd.

” Alejandro looked at him seriously.  Rodrigo slid another sheet of paper onto the table. According to this, his family was in dire financial straits before you came along. Alejandro felt the conversation taking an awkward turn. Rodrigo continued speaking in a calm tone. His mother needed a very expensive operation. And just as Claudia started working with you, the money suddenly appeared.

Alejandro looked at him without saying anything. Rodrigo leaned back in his chair. It’s an interesting coincidence, don’t you think? Alejandro firmly closed the folder. I decided to pay for that operation. Rodrigo raised an eyebrow. [music] I know. And that speaks well of you, but it also makes me think of something.

Alejandro narrowed his eyes. About what? [music] Rodrigo crossed his arms. About how some people know how to approach those with money. Alejandro felt something tense inside him. Rodrigo continued calmly, as if he were simply sharing a logical observation. A woman with financial problems starts working in the home of a millionaire.

Shortly after, he pays for an extremely expensive surgery for his mother. Alejandro  He clenched his jaw slightly. Rodrigo watched him intently as he spoke. ” You never thought that maybe it was all planned?” Alejandro stood up from his chair. “That’s absurd.” Rodrigo didn’t move. “Are you sure?” Alejandro looked at him with a mixture of anger and bewilderment.

Rodrigo continued. “Desperate people can be very resourceful.” Alejandro shook his head. “Claudia, it’s not like that.” Rodrigo raised a hand as if to defuse the situation. “Perhaps you’re right, but my job as a partner is also to protect the company and you.” Alejandro watched him without replying. Rodrigo calmly gathered the papers from the table .

“I just wanted you to consider the possibility that not everything is as innocent as it seems.” Alejandro walked to the window of his office. The city stretched out before him with its constant noise. Rodrigo stood up slowly. “If I’m wrong, fine. But if I’m not, then someone might be taking advantage of your generosity.” Alejandro didn’t reply.

Rodrigo walked to the door, but before leaving he said one last sentence. ” Sometimes the heart makes people…” Intelligent, stop seeing the obvious. Then he left the office. Alejandro stood alone, staring at the city. For several minutes he didn’t move. Part of him wanted to ignore what Rodrigo had said, but another part couldn’t stop those words from swirling in his head.

That afternoon, when he returned home, the scene was the same as always. Mateo was in the yard chasing a ball while Claudia cheered him on from a bench. Alejandro paused for a few seconds before getting out of the car, watching them from a distance. Mateo ran off laughing. Claudia looked at him with a genuine smile, but for the first time since she had arrived at his house, a small doubt appeared in Alejandro’s mind .

He walked toward the yard with a calm gait. Mateo ran toward him as soon as he saw him. “Dad, look how he kicked the ball just now!” Alejandro nodded distractedly. “Very good.” Mateo ran back toward the grass. Claudia stood up from the bench. “Good afternoon,” she said casually. Alejandro looked at her for a few seconds before replying.

“Good afternoon.” Claudia noticed something strange in his expression. “Is everything alright?”  [Music] “Okay?” she asked. Alejandro hesitated for a moment. Then he spoke in a colder voice than usual. “Claudia, [Music] I need to ask you something.” She looked at him in surprise. “Sure.” Alejandro crossed his arms.

“How did you find out about this job?” Claudia frowned slightly. “Through the nanny agency.” [Music] Alejandro was looking at her closely, as if trying to find something hidden in her answer. “Sure.” Claudia was confused. [Music] “Yes.” Alejandro took a deep breath. “You never investigated who I was before coming here.” Claudia shook her head slowly.

“I only knew it was a job taking care of a child.” Alejandro watched her with an expression that was hard to read. Claudia felt that something was wrong. “Why are you asking me that?” Alejandro took a few seconds to answer, “Because someone pointed out to me that maybe it wasn’t all just a coincidence.” Claudia’s face changed immediately.

“What do you mean?” Alejandro held her gaze. “That maybe you knew exactly who I was when you arrived at this house.” Claudia felt her heart pound . “You’re saying…”  that I came here for your money. Alejandro didn’t respond immediately. That silence was enough for Claudia to understand the doubt that had arisen in her mind.

Her eyes began to fill with tears. “I can’t believe you think that,” she said, her voice trembling. Alejandro clenched his jaw. “I’m just trying to understand some things.” Claudia took a step back. All I did was take care of your son. Alejandro didn’t respond. Claudia looked at him with obvious pain.

After everything we’ve been through, do you really think I planned something like this? Alejandro lowered his gaze for a moment, [music] but didn’t answer. That silence was what finally broke something inside Claudia. Tears began to fall uncontrollably. Then, there’s nothing more to say, she murmured. [music] Alejandro looked up, but Claudia was already walking away toward the house.

Mateo was still playing in the garden, oblivious to what was happening behind him. Alejandro stood watching as Claudia disappeared inside the house, and at that moment, without yet realizing it, the doubt that Rodrigo had  The planting had just shattered the trust that had slowly built between them. The argument in the garden left a tension that permeated the entire house that very night.

After Claudia came inside, she walked straight to the kitchen, trying to hold back her tears. Her hands trembled as she placed her bag on the table. Carmen, who was setting the table, immediately looked up at her . “Claudia, what happened?” she asked, concerned. Claudia shook her head, trying to catch her breath.

” Nothing,” she replied with difficulty, but it was clear that something was very wrong. Carmen put the plate in the sink and moved a little closer. “Mr. Alejandro said something.” Claudia closed her eyes for a moment. “I’d rather not talk about it now,” she said softly. At that moment, Mateo came running in from the garden with the ball in his hands.

“Claudia, watch me kick it now!” he said excitedly. But when he saw Claudia’s face, his expression changed immediately. “Why are you crying?” he asked with the straightforward innocence of a child. Claudia quickly wiped away her tears. “It’s okay,” she replied, trying to smile. Mateo frowned.  The frown. They always say that when something’s really happened.

Carmen watched the scene silently, understanding that something serious had occurred between Claudia and Alejandro. Claudia crouched down in front of the boy and placed a hand on his shoulder. “I’m just a little tired,” [music] she said softly. Mateo looked at her for a few seconds as if trying to decide whether to believe her or not.

Then he suddenly hugged her. Claudia closed her eyes at the embrace. For a moment she wanted to stay like that, without thinking about anything else, but she knew the situation couldn’t continue like this. A few minutes later, [music] Alejandro came into the house from the garden. Mateo was still in the kitchen with Claudia and Carmen.

When he saw his dad, he ran to him. “Dad, Claudia was crying,” he said bluntly. Alejandro felt a tightness in his chest when he heard that. He looked at Claudia, who was standing by the table with her eyes still red. Carmen understood that this wasn’t the moment for her and took Mateo’s hand. “Let’s go see if the dinosaur in the living room is still in its cave,” she said, leading him toward the  Hallway.

The kitchen fell silent. Alejandro and Claudia looked at each other from opposite sides of the table. Claudia was the first to speak. “I won’t be coming tomorrow,” she said, her voice still trembling.  [music] Alejandro frowned.  What do you mean? Claudia looked up at him.  “I resign.”  Alejandro felt a blow to his chest when he heard those words.

Claudia continued talking before he could respond.  “I can’t work in a house where they think I’m a person capable of manipulating or deceiving.” Alejandro opened his mouth to say something, but stopped.  Claudia took a deep breath.   All I did was take care of Mateo.  I did it because I love him very much, but I can’t stay if you doubt my intentions.

Alejandro lowered his gaze for a moment.  Claudia took her bag from the table.  Tomorrow I’ll go and get my things that are in the maid’s room.  Then he walked towards the door without waiting for an answer. Alejandro didn’t move.  She heard the door close softly behind her. The silence that remained inside the house was heavy. Minutes later, Mateo appeared in the hallway looking around.

“Where is Claudia?” he asked.  Alejandro took a few seconds to respond.  He went home. Mateo frowned.  Because? Alejandro didn’t know what to say.  Carmen appeared behind the child with a serious expression.  Mateo, come and finish your milk.  He said softly.  But the child did not move.  “I want Claudia to read me today’s story,” Alejandro insisted.

He felt a lump in his throat. “Dad will read it to you today,” [music] he finally replied. Mateo looked at him with obvious sadness. That night, while Alejandro tried to read the bedtime story, Mateo barely listened. His gaze was lost somewhere in the room. [music] When Alejandro finished, the boy spoke softly. “Claudia isn’t coming back.

” [music] Alejandro slowly closed the book. Mateo looked at him, waiting for a clear answer. “I don’t know,” he finally replied. Mateo looked down at the blankets. “ Then the house will be sad again,” he murmured. Alejandro felt those words hit him harder than he expected. After turning off the bedroom light, he went downstairs to the living room.

Carmen was there waiting. “Mr. Alejandro,” she said carefully. He looked at her. Carmen continued. “Claudia is a good woman.” Alejandro didn’t reply. Carmen folded her hands in front of her apron. “I don’t know what happened between you, but I know when someone has a good heart.” Alejandro walked to the window  Without saying a word.

Outside, the street was quiet under the lamppost. Carmen sighed softly. “The boy loves her very much,” she added before retreating to the kitchen. Alejandro was left alone in the living room. Carmen’s and Mateo’s words kept echoing in his head. The next day, at the company, Alejandro tried to concentrate on his work, but something wasn’t right.

During an important meeting, one of the managers had to repeat a question because Alejandro wasn’t paying attention. When the meeting ended, Alejandro went out into the hallway with the feeling that something was off. At that moment, he heard two employees talking near the break room. One of them mentioned Rodrigo’s name.

Alejandro stopped without them noticing. The other employee was speaking in a low voice. ” I heard that Rodrigo recently had someone investigated.” The first one asked curiously, “Who?” The second one replied with a light laugh, “The nanny who works at Mr. Alejandro’s house .” Alejandro felt his heart pound in his chest.

He remained  He remained motionless as he continued listening. “It seems he wanted to find something to use against her,” the employee continued. The other man chuckled. That man is always looking for an advantage in everything. Alejandro didn’t hear anything else. He walked slowly toward his office with a distinct feeling growing inside him. The doubt that had entered his mind the night before hadn’t arisen on its own.

Someone had planted it, and now he was beginning to understand exactly who it was. Alejandro closed his office door harder than usual. The sound echoed in the company hallway, but he didn’t notice. He walked quickly to his desk , the words he had heard a few minutes earlier still repeating in his mind. Rodrigo had ordered an investigation into Claudia.

Rodrigo was the one who planted the doubt. Alejandro placed his hands on the desk and took a deep breath. For several seconds he remained motionless, staring at the wooden surface as if trying to organize all the thoughts clashing inside his head. He remembered the conversation in the meeting room. He remembered the papers that  Rodrigo had stood before him.

He remembered how his words had slowly seeped into his mind, making him question something he had never doubted before. And worst of all, he remembered Claudia’s face in the garden when he had asked her those questions. The surprise, the pain, the tears. Alejandro clenched his jaw tightly. [music] At that moment, he felt something he hadn’t felt in a long time. Rage.

He picked up the phone from his desk and dialed Rodrigo’s number . When someone answered , Alejandro spoke firmly. ” Rodrigo, come to my office now.” He didn’t wait for a reply. He hung up and stood staring at the door. He didn’t have to wait long. Two minutes later, Rodrigo walked in with his usual calm expression .

He seemed completely relaxed. “What’s up?” [music] he asked as he closed the door behind him. Alejandro didn’t sit down; he remained standing in front of the desk. Rodrigo immediately noticed something was different about his demeanor. “Is something wrong?” he asked again. Alejandro looked directly into his eyes.  eyes.

“Did you have Claudia investigated?” Rodrigo was silent for a second, then raised his eyebrows slightly. “Who told you that?” Alejandro took a step toward him. “Don’t answer with another question.” Rodrigo sighed softly and leaned back in one of the chairs in front of the desk. “Fine,” he said finally. “Yes, I did.

” Alejandro felt anger rise in his chest. Why? Rodrigo shrugged as if the answer were obvious. Because you’re my partner, and when someone close to you can influence important company decisions, I’m interested in knowing who it is. Alejandro shook his head. You didn’t do that for the company. Rodrigo crossed his arms. Of course I did.

[music] Alejandro glared at him. You did it because you wanted to manipulate me. Rodrigo chuckled. That’s your interpretation. Alejandro took another step toward him. You knew exactly what you were doing when you showed me that information. Rodrigo watched him calmly. I only showed you the facts.

Alejandro clenched his hands. You twisted those facts to make me  Doubting someone who doesn’t deserve it. Rodrigo kept his gaze steady. Alejandro. People with money always attract people who look to take advantage of them. Alejandro slammed his palm on the table. Claudia, isn’t that right? Rodrigo raised an eyebrow. Are you absolutely sure? Alejandro glared at him, barely contained.

I was, before I heard you. Rodrigo was silent for a moment, then spoke in a lower voice. If your trust in her was so strong, then my words shouldn’t have affected you. Alejandro felt that sentence strike him right in the chest, because deep down he knew Rodrigo was right about something. He had allowed doubt to creep in, and that doubt had been enough to hurt Claudia.

Alejandro walked to his office window and stared at the city for a few seconds. Then he turned back to Rodrigo. This is over. Rodrigo frowned slightly . What do you mean? Alejandro spoke clearly. I don’t want to continue working with you. Rodrigo let out a small, incredulous laugh. You can’t make a decision like that just because of an argument.

Alejandro shook his head.  head. It’s not just about this, [music] it’s about years of manipulation, games, and trying to gain power within the company. Rodrigo stood up slowly. Be careful what you say. Alejandro held his gaze. I’ve reviewed several recent financial transactions. Rodrigo was silent.

Alejandro continued. I also spoke with the board this morning. Rodrigo narrowed his eyes. Alejandro delivered the final blow. As of today, you’re out of the company. The silence in the office grew heavy. Rodrigo stared at him in disbelief for several seconds. You can’t do that. Alejandro pointed to a folder on the desk. Everything is signed.

Rodrigo walked to the desk and opened the folder with swift movements. As he reviewed the documents, his expression gradually changed. When he finished reading, he looked up, his face tense. This isn’t over . Alejandro observed him calmly. It already is. Rodrigo slammed the folder shut. Do you know that without me, many things in this company are going to get complicated? Alejandro shook his head slowly.

[music] I prefer to face those  Complications rather than continue working with someone who uses other people’s lives as a tool. Rodrigo held his gaze for a moment longer. Then he picked up the folder and walked toward the door. Before leaving, he paused. “I hope you’re right about that woman,” [music] he said coldly. ” Because if you ever find out I was wrong, it will be too late.

” He left the office without looking back. Alejandro was alone again. Silence filled the place once more, but this time it wasn’t the same silence as before. Now it was filled with something else. Guilt. [music] Alejandro walked slowly to his chair and slumped into it. He closed his eyes for a moment as he recalled Claudia’s expression when she decided to leave.

He knew that confronting Rodrigo was only part of the problem. The other part was much harder. He had to find Claudia. [music] He had to apologize to her, and he had no idea if she would be willing to listen. Meanwhile, at home, Mateo sat on the living room floor looking at the block castle he and  Claudia had built days before. He hadn’t  Disassembled.

Carmen walked down the hall and watched him silently. Mateo held one of the dinosaurs in his hand, but he wasn’t playing with it; he was just slowly moving it across the floor. Carmen approached and sat beside him. “Don’t you want to build the tower again?” she asked gently. Mateo shook his head. “It’s not the same.

” Carmen sighed. Mateo looked up at her. “Do you think Claudia will come back?” Carmen hesitated before answering. “I don’t know, my boy.” Mateo looked again at the unfinished castle in front of him. ” Then I hope Dad fixes what he broke,” he murmured. Carmen said nothing, but as she watched the boy sitting silently, she knew that the house had felt empty again since the moment Claudia walked out the door.

And she also knew that Alejandro would have to do something very important if he wanted to bring back the life that woman had brought back to that home. Alejandro Montaño’s house felt too quiet again after Claudia left. It wasn’t a peaceful silence; it was the kind of silence that makes every room seem bigger and more…  Cold.

Carmen noticed it from the first day. Mateo did too. The boy still walked around the house with his toys in his hand, but he no longer ran through the garden like before. Some afternoons he sat on the living room floor in front of the block castle he and Claudia had built days before. He didn’t take it apart, he just stared at it as if waiting for her to walk through the door at any moment and continue playing. Alejandro felt it too.

Every time he came home from work and walked through the front door, he had the feeling that something was missing. He heard his own footsteps on the living room floor and remembered the afternoons when Mateo ran around that same spot while Claudia cheered him on. Now everything seemed quieter. One night, after dinner, Alejandro was sitting in the living room reviewing some documents when Mateo appeared in the hallway with his plastic dinosaur in his hand.

“Dad,” the boy said softly. Alejandro looked up . “What’s up, champ?” Mateo walked over to the sofa and sat down next to him . [music] Have you sorted things out with  Claudia? Alejandro was silent for a moment. He didn’t know how to answer that question. Not yet, [music] he finally replied. Mateo looked down at the dinosaur.

You should, he said simply. Alejandro watched him closely. Why do you say that? Mateo shrugged. Because when someone is sad about something you did, [music] you have to say sorry. Alejandro felt those simple words hit harder than any argument he’d ever had at the company. [music] Mateo continued.

Claudia always says that when two people love each other, they shouldn’t stay angry for long. Alejandro felt a lump in his throat, leaned toward his son, and gently smoothed his hair. “You’re right,” he said softly. Mateo looked at him hopefully. “Then go find her.” That same night, Alejandro took the car keys.

Carmen saw him walk out the door and immediately understood what was happening. “Good luck, Mr. Alejandro,” she called from the kitchen. Alejandro just nodded before leaving. The car drove along the city’s brightly lit streets as Alejandro  He thought about what he was going to say. He didn’t know if Claudia would be willing to listen.

He did n’t know if the damage he had caused could be repaired with words, but he knew he had to try. Finally, he arrived at the small building where Claudia lived with her mother. It was a simple place, very different from the mansion where he lived. Alejandro stayed in the car for a few seconds, looking at the building’s illuminated windows . Then he took a deep breath and got out.

He went up the stairs to the second floor and knocked on the door. A few seconds passed before the door opened, and Claudia appeared before him. For a moment, neither of them said anything. Claudia seemed surprised to see him there. “Alejandro,” she said finally. [music] Alejandro looked at her with a mixture of nervousness and regret.

“I need to talk to you.” Claudia hesitated for a moment, but then opened the door a little wider for him to enter. Inside the apartment, Doña Rosa sat in a chair near the window. The woman looked up when she saw Alejandro. He greeted her respectfully before turning back to Claudia. “I came to ask for your forgiveness,” he said bluntly.

Claudia crossed her arms slightly. “Why?” [Music] Alejandro lowered his gaze for a moment before answering. “Because I doubted you.” Claudia watched him silently. Alejandro continued. “Rodrigo manipulated me. He used information about your family to make me believe things that weren’t true.” Claudia took a deep breath.

Alejandro looked up again. “But it’s not all his fault. I was the one who let that doubt creep in. I was the one who hurt you.” The silence in the room grew heavy. Doña Rosa watched the scene without intervening. Alejandro took a step closer. “Claudia, I never thought you came to my house out of self-interest.

I knew it deep down, but I let someone else make me question it.” Claudia lowered her gaze to the floor. Her hands were clasped tightly. Alejandro continued speaking in a softer voice. “Since you arrived, my son has laughed again, and I’ve also begun to feel things I thought would never return to my life.

” Claudia slowly raised her gaze . Alejandro took a deep breath before saying what he had really come to say. “I need you back.”  in our lives, not only because of Mateo, but also because of me. Claudia felt her heart beat faster upon hearing those words. For a few seconds, no one spoke. Finally, Claudia said softly, “What happened hurt me a lot.

”   “ I know,” Alejandro replied. Claudia looked into his eyes. “I thought everything we had built was lost in an instant.” Alejandro shook his head gently. “ I thought so too, but I don’t want it to end like this.” Doña Rosa spoke then for the first time. “Daughter,” she said calmly. Claudia turned to her. “ Sometimes people make mistakes when they’re afraid.

” Claudia was silent. Alejandro took another step closer. “Mateo misses you a lot.” Claudia closed her eyes for a second at that . “I miss him too,” Alejandro continued. “The house isn’t the same without you.” Claudia looked at him for several seconds. Finally, she sighed and lowered her arms. “Okay,” [music] she said softly.

Alejandro looked up in surprise, but on one condition, Claudia added. Alejandro nodded immediately. “Anything you want.” Claudia looked at him with a small smile. “That next time you trust me before listening to others.” Alejandro felt an enormous relief in his chest. “I promise.” Months later, [music] the garden of the house was filled with laughter again.

Mateo was running through the grass  chasing a ball while Claudia cheered him on from a bench. [music] Alejandro watched the scene from the terrace. Doña Rosa was also there, sitting in a chair in the sun, chatting with Carmen. Life had changed a lot since those difficult days. One afternoon, while Mateo was playing near the trees, Alejandro walked over to Claudia in the garden.

She looked up when she saw him approaching. “What’s wrong?” she asked. Alejandro took a small box from his jacket pocket. Claudia looked at him in surprise. Alejandro spoke with a calm smile. “I once thought my life was over. I thought love would never find me again.” Claudia listened silently. Alejandro opened the small box in front of her, but he was wrong.

Inside was a simple ring, but it shone brightly in the afternoon light. Claudia brought a hand to her mouth in surprise. Alejandro looked straight into her eyes. “Will you marry me?” For a moment, the world seemed to go silent around them. Then Claudia smiled as tears welled up in her eyes again. “Yes,” [music] she replied, her voice trembling with emotion.

In that Suddenly, Mateo ran towards them. “What happened?” he asked curiously. Alejandro lifted his son into his arms. “Looks like we’re going to be an even bigger family.” Mateo looked at Claudia with excitement. “That means you’re staying forever.” Claudia smiled as she took the boy’s hand. “Yes, forever.

” And in that garden where, months before, everything had begun to change, laughter filled the air once more as the afternoon sun illuminated the place where a story that had begun with sadness was finally finding a new beginning.
