Georgie, would it be all right if we actually kissed? >> Welcome to Miz Mojo, and today we’re ranking the most popular dating shows based on a few factors. How many long-term couples they’ve created, the franchise’s reputations for authentic relationships, and successful partnerships that are still together today.
>> [music] >> Number 10. Too hot to handle. >> All right, so we’re going to play the blindfold game, guys. There’s no rules. Just do whatever. Kiss, feel, touch, smell. We can do whatever. And we got to figure out who did what. >> Why not? Seems like the perfect icebreaker for a bunch of people who met 9 hours ago.
>> This Netflix series takes contestants who think they’ve been cast on a regular dating show and presents them with a shocking twist. Any sexual contact of any kind will decrease their prize money. >> These guys are screwed. >> God, this is gonna be hard. >> Just not in the way they want to be. >> I’m sure I can keep my legs closed for 100K.
If I’m tempted, I’ll be like, “Think of your nan. Think of your nan.” In 2020, the first season became a guilty pleasure sensation, but the entertainment came more from the hilarious drama than any true couple goals romances. It has since earned a reputation for fake relationships and creating clout chasers. Many cast members have gone on to become serial reality TV stars.
From all six seasons, there’s only one unlikely partnership that’s still going strong. >> I do think I love him just a [music] little bit. I want you to be part of my life. I want you [music] to like meet my mates. I want to meet my mom, my dad, my family. >> I think I’ve definitely fallen in love with a girl. Yeah. >> Number nine, farmer wants a wife.
>> Are you excited? >> Have you been to a rodeo? >> Oh, yeah. >> A couple of yeses, a lot of no. As you might guess from the title, this show pairs farmers looking for love with a group of women from the city to see if opposites really do attract with a strong focus on creating long-term partnerships.
The franchise prides itself on having played matchmaker for more than 200 marriages worldwide. >> Amanda, where there has been cold, you have brought warmth. When there has been dark, you have brought light. I pledge before [music] this assembled company to be your husband to this day forward. >> In 2023, the series was rebooted in the US.
And although there were initially four couples from three seasons, all of the pairings seem to have since parted ways. After falling short of the format’s expectations, the American version has a lot of catching up to do. >> We’ll just go from there. If I [singing and music] had no. >> I know I didn’t get the fairy tale ending that I was hoping for yet, but I’ve learned to be more open.
[music] I’ve learned to be more vulnerable, like a better version of myself. >> Number eight, are you the one? >> Even thinking about Dylan being with another girl or being somebody else’s perfect match, it’s like a blow to my stomach. It would kill me inside if he wasn’t my perfect match. Joining the cast of a reality TV series often requires an extensive interview process, [music] but Are You the One takes it a step further.
It also gathers data to create perfect matches. This whole experience is just overwhelming. Steven brought the positive side of me out, but in the same way, it kind of prevented us from maybe finding out who our real perfect matches. Using a series of tests and opinions from a therapist, a psychologist, and even exes, the show created its own matchmaking algorithm.
However, since its starred on MTV in 2014, their systems long-term success rate isn’t much to brag about. Of the six couples still together today, only one is with their intended pairing, proving that data can’t always determine love. >> Love’s not something you can go to the store and pick up. It happens.
Um, and most often when you [music] least expect it, and I was not really expecting to be into this girl this much. >> Number seven, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. After over 20 years of handing out roses, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are two of the most well-known dating shows worldwide. However, the on-screen Happily Ever Afters don’t always last.

>> You’ve done enough damage. I’m I’m done. Here you go. Here’s this. We’re done. I didn’t mean that. >> From a combined 50 seasons, there are only nine couples who are still together. More often than not, the pairings part ways shortly after, end up going through messy public breakups or divorces, or share that things weren’t actually the way they seemed on TV.
I just feel like this experience has been taken away from me because I didn’t know all the details. I was being told half-truths and lies. And you and you oh you wanted me to have clarity and clarity means >> truth. >> Truth. So far, The Golden Bachelor is off to a more promising start with a 50% success rate from the first two seasons.
But only time will tell if it can help boost the format’s less than impressive track record. I have a ring and this represents our commitment to love to give us time to figure out together what our future holds. What do you think? >> I agree. I think it would be absolutely wonderful.
We’re just completely on the same page with that. >> Number six, Love Island. >> I really like [music] don’t like to put labels on it cuz it’s so early and things change so quickly. But things are going as good as you can imagine. >> Since originating in the UK, the rotating number of contestants and couples on Love Island has provided plenty of opportunities for sparks and riveting hot people banter.
While the American version initially struggled to gain traction, the cast of season 6 helped put it on the map. >> First time I laid these blind eyes on you, I walked into the villa and I saw you at the fire pit. You face trials [music] and emotional roller coasters. >> When I say these words, I mean them. >> This is so much beauty.
I can’t handle it. >> Today, there are about six pairings still going strong from the last 3 years, but the show’s overall success percentage is only around 10%. Still, the format doesn’t promise proposals, and since moving to Peacock, the series is off to a surprisingly hopeful start. The popular power couples are proof that it could actually be possible to find love in the villa, but only time will tell.
>> Our first date post villa, >> I guess. Your birthday. >> Oh, yeah. That was our first date. >> Your birthday. Um, now birthday and our anniversary together. >> Number five, Love on the Spectrum. >> Have you ever been on a date before? >> No, I haven’t. >> I’ve never >> I’ve never been on be on a date before either.
This Netflix show takes an in-depth look at the romantic lives of young adults on the autism spectrum. Taking on more of a documentary style, producers encourage the cast members to meet potential partners and go on a series of setup dates. >> I thought about [music] my first kiss so many times. I just [snorts] >> It’s okay. Hey, it’s okay.
It’s okay. Perhaps [music] on the cheek, maybe. >> That’s fine with me. >> So far, the series has had its fair share of success stories with five couples from the last four years who stayed together after their seasons. While Love on the Spectrum has been met with some criticisms for its narrow portrayal of autistic individuals, [music] it’s also earned praise for putting a hopeful spin on the dating show format.
No, sometimes I’m in my head, but when I’m with you, [music] I’m in the world instead. No one treats me better. We’re so good together. Will you be my boyfriend forever? >> Number four, married at first sight. >> I think my biggest fear right now [music] is we’re overdoing it and you know cuz it’s not normal. [music] You know, we never really eased into it.
What are you scared of? >> I’m scared it’s going to switch. I’m going to like you and then and you’re going to not like [snorts] me. >> Many dating shows feature a cast of young singles who struggle with commitment, but this series takes a completely different approach. Contestants are matched together by experts before simulating married life for 8 weeks.
And it isn’t always smooth sailing. >> You can roll your eyes because you’re yelling at me. >> It’s okay. IT’S OKAY. SO THEN WE DON’T NEED TO TALK. THEN we don’t need to talk. >> By the end, each pairing must decide if they want to continue or separate. And after 19 seasons, more than half have made the initial decision to stay together.
That statistic might seem surprisingly high, but the experiment doesn’t always stick. Between the couples who end up parting ways or later getting divorced, the show’s long-term success rate actually ends up at around 14%. >> It’s been a lot of hurt, and I can’t ignore that, you know, so I don’t know if I can stay in this. >> Number three, love is blind.
This literally is the first time an experiment [music] like this has ever been done. >> We all have to remember this central question. Is Love truly [music] blind? >> We hope so. >> Since its debut on Netflix in 2020, Love is Blind has become an international sensation. The [music] show tests how relationships form when you eliminate physical appearances, and it’s gone viral for all of the shady, dramatic, and hilarious moments that ensue.
Um, I never thought I could care for someone that [music] would bring me to tears. >> However, even with all of the tears, both real and fake, shed along the way, the show has a surprising amount of successes to its name. From the pods to proposals to Saying I do, 15 couples have gotten married over the course of nine seasons.
13 of those marriages lasted more than a year, and eight are still together today. I forgot the exact term for it, but I just love people’s minds and [music] how they are the way they are. >> You love my mind. >> I love your mind. I’m like envious. I’m like, “Oh my god, I love the way you think. Tell me more.” >> Number two, Bachelor in Paradise.
>> I’ve never felt for anyone the way I feel for you. You know, I just I’ve never felt that way, so it’s hard to let it go. With the sheer amount of scandals and drama that this show has produced over the last decade, it might be shocking to see the Bachelor spin-off so high on the list.
However, with a more than a dozen couples who have gotten married, or entered committed partnerships, the series second chance premise has proved to be much more successful. >> We have so much history here in Paradise. We met here, got [music] engaged here, and now we’re getting married here. I love you now and forever.
and I know that together we will be the greatest team the world has ever seen. >> The episodes along the way don’t always demonstrate the healthiest relationship building, but around onethird of the finale pairings have ended up staying together. Though it isn’t always pretty, Bachelor in Paradise proves that the franchise can be more than just an entertainment hoax.
>> We’re engaged. [screaming] >> I got >> We went with our hearts and we’ll figure the other stuff out later. Two less logical people on this beach just followed their hearts and got engaged. >> Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
You have the option to be notified for occasional videos or all of them. If you’re on your phone, make sure you go into your settings and switch on notifications. Number one, [music] 90day fiance. >> 11 months after I met Dais, I ended up proposing to her [music] and she said yes. We applied for the K1 visa and she’s going to be here in 5 days.
>> A far cry from fantasy suites and villa hideaways, this documentary style series follows fiances applying for an American visa that requires them to relocate and get married within 90 days. [music] Since its debut in 2014, the show has become a reality TV fan favorite, and around half of the couples are still going strong.
Although starting out with existing relationships definitely helps, the combination of cameras, culture shock, and a time crunch can quickly turn explosive. However, there have still been some diamonds in the rough. And even with all of the highstakes drama, the popular franchise still comes out on top with more than 30 couples together to this day.
>> Oh my god, he cried. [laughter] >> I know when he cried, but I know he cry because he happy. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, I know that. >> Because I waited a long time to see you. [laughter and gasps] >> Oh, baby, I love you. Which of these statistics surprised you the most? And which show do you think is the best at matchmaking? Let us know in the comments.
