With his latest technical fouls, Edwards reached 16 for the season, which triggered an automatic one-game suspension under NBA rules. The league also reviewed his actions following the ejection and determined that additional disciplinary measures were necessary. Edwards was fined $35,000 for failing to leave the court in a timely manner and for throwing the ball into the stands before exiting.

This isn’t the first time Edwards has faced financial penalties this season. Earlier in January, he was fined $50,000 for making obscene gestures at referees. In total, his fines for the season now stand at $320,000.

On Thursday, Edwards was visibly upset after receiving his second technical foul. Instead of heading straight to the locker room, he did not hesitate to leave the court with controversy. The frustration likely stemmed from his struggles on the court that night, as he managed 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists but was unable to spark a comeback for his team.

Timberwolves Suffer Close Loss To Jazz Without Anthony Edwards

The Minnesota Timberwolves faced a tough 117-116 loss to the Utah Jazz on Saturday night. With Anthony Edwards sidelined due to his one-game suspension, Minnesota struggled to close out the game despite strong performances from Naz Reid and Jaden McDaniels.

Reid scored 27 points while McDaniels added 20 points, but their efforts weren’t enough to secure the win. The loss drops the Timberwolves to a 32-29 record, pushing them down to the ninth seed in the West.

Fortunately for Minnesota, Edwards’ suspension is now behind him. The Wolves star will be eligible to return on Sunday when the Timberwolves take on the Phoenix Suns.
