It was a sad sad game night for the Los Angeles Lakers fans. The Charlotte Hornets pulled off a surprising 100-97 victory over the Lakers on Wednesday night, but LeBron James has no answer to it. The win came in handy for Charlotte, largely thanks to strong performances from Miles Bridges, who scored 29 points, and LaMelo Ball, who contributed 27 points.
LeBron James, despite scoring 16 of his total 26 points in the fourth quarter, could not secure the win for his team. He missed two vital three-point shots in the dying moments of the game, both of them in consecutive order. While fans started cheering, they saw the ball in James’ hand, and he was wide open. But all of the cheers and shouts end in a disheartening fate.

Luka Doncic, in his third game with the Lakers, finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists but struggled with his shooting. He went 5 of 18 from the field and just 1 of 9 from beyond the arc. The Hornets, who were trailing 65-53 late in the third quarter, mounted an incredible 22-1 run to take control of the game. Nick Smith Jr. played a crucial role, hitting a go-ahead 3-pointer with 48 seconds left.
Following his shot, Rui Hachimura missed two free throws for the Lakers. Ball then extended the Hornets’ lead with a layup before James hit a 3-pointer to keep the game close. However, Ball sealed the win with two free throws, ensuring the Lakers’ home winning streak of seven games came to an end.
NBA Fans React As LeBron James Misses Consecutive Threes
Coming off the NBA All-Star break, hopes were mounting high on the Lakers to hold the Hornets for an obvious win. But the closely contested game resulted in the odd side. However, the social media fans did not let that slip off and blasted LeBron for his fumble.
“LeWashed at it again,” a fan commented.
“He’s getting old,” another fan wrote.
“MJ would never miss two shots in a row in the clutch,” another comment read.
“Jordan would never,” a fan commented.
“CURRY WOULD NEVER LMFAOOOOO,” another comment read.
However, fans might blast LeBron for the open opportunities he missed. But it could not take away the capabilities he has to perform during clutch scenarios. While there might be some missed throws, the number of throws he has successfully made is vast.
