Nobody knew Zion Williamson was a weeb. The New Orleans Pelicans star has long been talking about his love for anime. And while he has shed off some good extra pounds of weight, now is the perfect time to get some anime-inspired ink on his body.

Recently, a photo went viral where Williamson was seen having a Naruto seal on his stomach around the naval area. This was his second most notable tattoo that has gotten the internet buzzing. Ever since the picture surfaced on the internet, social media fans made the most out of this occasion.

Williamson‘s connection to Naruto goes beyond just fandom. According to him, it has been a source of inspiration for him throughout his career. Known for his enthusiastic passion for the series, he has even collaborated on a line of Naruto-inspired sneakers for Jordan Brand.

However, this was not the first time Williamson showed off his anime-inspired tattoo, and fans started going after him. A couple of months ago, the Pelicans star forward got a striking full-back tattoo featuring a menacing creature with a wide grin of massive teeth. While the tattoo itself caught some attention, the online critics lambasted Zion for his physique.

In interviews, the 2x NBA All-Star spoke about how watching Naruto has helped him through a challenging phase in his life. He counted on the manga series during the entire 2021-22 season when he was sidelined due to injury. However, social media doctors couldn’t focus much on the aspects behind his inspiration for the tattoo.

“How deep that thang go??” a fan commented on the post.

“Boy ate a 9 piece now he think he got the 9 tails in him I’m cryin,” another fan joked.

“That’s a cinnamon roll lol,” a fan quipped.

“It will seal those double bacon cheese burgers,” another comment read.

“He an anime fan with money, let the young man do him,” a fan seemed to let the thing slide.

“Gonna look silly when he puts on 80lbs,” a user joked.

Whatever Williamson does, it just fires back. While the hate he’s getting lately is unnecessary, the North Carolina-born NBA star is working on it. He knows everybody is shaming him for his extra weight, and he even showed some signs of getting fit.
