The Milwaukee Bucks’ current lineup may feature their defining franchise symbol. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar won their first championship, but Giannis Antetokounmpo won their second. Unlike Kareem, Antetokounmpo may retire as a one-team guy. That’s what he plans to do, anyway.

Giannis stated in an interview with Eurohoops that he has no intention of ever leaving Milwaukee and that the team will need to trade him away if they wish to move on.

Giannis said, “I don’t think that I would ever text (and ask for a trade), I am not this kind of guy, they would have to kick me out.”

He also joked about Luka Doncic at least getting traded to Los Angeles after the hosts suggested a scenario in which Giannis is abruptly traded to the Detroit Pistons. Giannis said that he would maintain his composure and move on in the case of a trade.

“At least Luka went from Dallas to L.A., why you are sending me to Detroit? NBA is business, if I got traded I would inform my family and would do my job.”

Given that Milwaukee is one of the NBA’s smallest TV markets, Giannis’ position is all the more impressive. He guided the team to a championship while taking home numerous MVP awards and a DPOY. His efforts have outlasted Kareem’s. He is also the team’s all-time top scorer and may already be their best player.

Is Trading Giannis Antetokounmpo For Another Star A Smart Move For The Milwaukee Bucks?

It is entirely illogical for the Bucks to move Giannis away without informing him until he requests out. A general manager who didn’t respect Luka Doncic’s habits and an owner who wholeheartedly agreed with that assessment made the scenario special.

Throughout his career, Giannis has demonstrated that he is among the NBA’s hardest workers. He constantly improves his physique and skill set to the point that the 18-year-old who the Bucks selected in 2013 hardly recognizes him. He is considered a franchise legend because of his league-breaking achievements. This alone elevated the team to prominence in the 2000s.

Giannis is one of the franchise icons who should always be respected and retained on the team. His endurance is still in doubt while he’s bearing this burden. Also, the team depends so much on him on both sides of the floor. However, we know Giannis can accomplish almost anything on the floor for a team that can win a championship if he is healthy.
