Evidence has reportedly surfaced amid investigations into the mysterious deaths of Gene Hackman and his wife.

The two-time Academy Award-winning actor was found dead inside of his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, last week, with the lifeless bodies of his wife Betsy Arakawa and one of their three dogs also discovered.

With carbon monoxide poisoning officially ruled out, the circumstances of Hackman’s death are now thought to be highly suspicious. The actor was 95 years old, 35 years older than his wife. That they both died with one of their pets is incredibly puzzling.

According to former FBI investigator Bill Daly, the authorities have found certain bits of evidence. He also described how they can piece together much of what led to Hackman and Arakawa’s demise.

“After receiving the cell phones, investigators can determine when they stopped moving, when they lost communication, which can tell the time of disablement or death,” he told Fox News Digital.

“They can do geolocating around the property to see what was pinging around that time, though they won’t be able to tell who without a warrant, but can tell what activity there was before and afterward, even if they’re not suspecting foul play,” he said.

“Toxicology – there could have been some other type of poisoning, possibly food? They’ll go through their trash, fridge … this is stuff the police can do in the meantime while gathering evidence. There are a number of possibilities.”

Hackman is believed to have died at least nine days before his body was discovered, as the most recent data from his pacemaker was recorded on February 17.
