The smash hit from 2006, “Smack That”, just crossed 1.4 billion views on YouTube, making it the fifth Eminem video to hit this milestone. But at the rate it is going, it might not stay in fifth place for long.
With nearly 600,000 new views rolling in daily, “Smack That” is one of Eminem’s most consistently streamed videos, trailing only “Without Me” (820,000 daily views) and Mockingbird (680,000). Meanwhile, “Rap God”, which sits ahead for now, is pulling in about half as many daily views — meaning “Smack That” could soon move up the ranks.
Released in 2006, the track was an instant hit, thanks to its infectious hook, club-ready beat, and a guest verse from Eminem that fans still go back to today. Nearly two decades later, the video’s continued rise shows that some collaborations never lose their shine.
Kevin Love Compares Tyler Herro to Eminem to Celebrate His 3-Point Contest Win
Tyler Herro from the Miami Heat had his 8 Mile moment at NBA All-Star Weekend, and his teammate Kevin Love made sure to let everyone know.
After Herro took home the 3-point contest trophy on Saturday, Love hit social media with a legendary comparison — posting a clip from “8 Mile” where Eminem’s B-Rabbit dominates the rap battle. His caption gave a playful nod to Herro’s sharpshooting skills, comparing those to Eminem’s battle rap prowess: “Tyler to Buddy (Hield) and the rest of the 3pt contest participants. Bring home that hardware my boy!!! #CAWB”
Love, known for his top-tier trolling, has been roasting everyone from Jimmy Butler to Pat Riley this season. This time, Herro got the honourary B-Rabbit treatment — because when it came to the 3-point contest, he left no doubt who ran the court.
Another Milestone: “Houdini” Surpasses 1 Billion Global Streams
Eminem’s “Houdini” continues to rack up streams at a staggering pace more than half a year since its release.
According to @chartdata, one of Eminem’s latest hits has reached a massive milestone across all platforms. While an exact breakdown was not provided, the numbers add up. On Spotify alone, the track has pulled in over 569 million streams, while its music video has racked up more than 214 million views on YouTube. With additional plays from Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, Anghami, and other streaming services, hitting 1 billion streams globally seems like a sure bet.
The lead single from his 12th studio album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)”, “Houdini” made a major impact upon release. The track debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 48.8 million first-week streams and 49,000 copies sold, making it Eminem’s highest-charting single in over a decade.
Beyond the charts, “Houdini” has also earned its share of accolades. The music video won Best Hip-Hop and Best Visual Effects at the MTV VMAs, and the song earned two Grammy nominations. Even months after its release, “Houdini” still pulls in over 800,000 daily streams on Spotify, implying that Shady’s magic is not fading away.
