The Japanese sensation will join Sohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound. Sasaki is a versatile pitcher with a great combination. While Sasaki was at practice during the Dodgers camp, catcher Austin Barnes had witnessed his pitching prowess. Barness was stunned to see Sasaki fastball and his pitching potential.

“Oh my gosh, The fastball is a big fastball, it has a lot of carry and ride to it. The ball jumps at you. And the split-finger is different. I’ve never seen a pitch like that before. It’s hard to catch sometimes, it tumbles a lot, it moves all over the place. It goes in different directions. A crazy talent. It’s exciting to see what he’s going to do,” Barnes said about Roki Sasaki.

Dodgers fans are in for a treat to watch one of the best starting rotations in the league. Apart from the Japanese pitchers, Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow, and veteran pitcher Clayton Kershaw will add an extra boost.

Dave Roberts Is All Set To Get Roki Sasaki Into A Cactus League Game

Sasaki is sure to pitch this year, but there is no timeline given for the pitcher. Many believe that he will debut in mid-May or June. However, it seems like Dave Roberts will give him the chance to pitch earlier.

“It was more clean and consistent, and there probably was some nerves in that first one. But I think each outing, each time he takes the mound, he’s going to get more and more comfortable. Certainly the next check point is when he faces some hitters, and then we get him into a Cactus League game. But the talent is still there, obviously,” Roberts said via Clutch Points.
